Favorite Scene
Arnav: I am following all traditions and rituals because I have nothing against them. I am doing that for you. We are doing all this restaurant, Italian food, wine for me. But these are very distant from your way of thinking.
Arnav & Khushi
Be who you are!
Arnav knows she is doing it in love. This is a way she says thanks for all that he is doing for her. He knows she's not making fun of him, or trying to embarrass him. She's doing it all for him, and he totally gets it.
I love not just the way Arnav responded to Khushi's attempt, but also how he reasoned it. I love the little speech he gives about loving her the way she was. I especially LOVED one particular thing he said:
"I am following all traditions and rituals because I have nothing against them. I am doing that for you. We are doing all this restaurant, Italian food, wine for me. But these are very distant from your way of thinking."
He follows it up with a clear statement - he does not want her to change for him. He loves her the way she is. It is an amazing level of comfort this man has with his woman. He knows her. He has seen her for who she is and he has loved her. He's appreciated her, and though some things irritated him about her, he aware that those things make Khushi who she is. He would not change it for anything.
Acceptance is one of the most delicious fruits of true love. The freedom to be who you are, to be accepted as is, and to be loved for who you are - This is where deep-rooted mutual comfort stems from. No need to be someone else - be yourself. You don't need to do things to impress or pay back.
It's lovely and I applaud the team, the writers, dialog writers for this brilliant insight into how Arnav sees, perceives, and approaches things. Brilliant!
Psychologically Drunk
Khushi is trying to show her love to Arnav in a way she thinks Arnav would like. The very thought is love - and Arnav knows it. Even though, the way she did it Arnav had to tell her that she needn't change for him, yet the idea that she was willing to become him so that he'd be happy, is in itself something so adorable!
Who - being angry with him - dared to run their fingers in his hair (while he slept) with oodles of overflowing love?
Who would carry food for him at work?
Who stayed up all night for this man when he was not well? Or oiling his hair in the dead of the night so bring him comfort?
Who bothered to thank Arnav even for all the small things he does for them?
Arnav threw a cocktail party for Akash and Payal when they were getting married. Did anyone think of throwing one for Arnav and Khushi?
Khushi did.
She's so drunk with love! Just as Arnav would, she'd do anything for him.
It is beautiful how she is unafraid and unembarrassed to show him how much she loves him, even if it means Khushi becoming Arnav Singh Raizada for the evening. It is an amazing level of comfort this woman shares with her man. She is totally secure in the knowledge that he would like it and not misunderstand her attempt.
The Date - To Us
Arnav probably knew she was up to something when she ordered him to the date. He was probably confirmed of her romantic khurafaat when he saw her dressed in black.
We warned you, Arnav. She totally got his attention (she usually gets it no matter what color she wears!); he kept staring at her for several seconds, looking her up and down till the waiter comes. The Nutter is smitten!
He knows the sound of her payal, but other than that everything about Khushi looks different tonight. Yet, Khushi manages to be Khushi. He totally gets it when things do not turn out as she planned them starting step one - the very date. He even tries to handle things for her, but Khushi is Khushi!
It's just as Arnav puts it: Where there is Khushi, there would be explosions; in fact, multiple explosions!
When he asked her if she needed help with the menu, she totally covered it up with the Italian kebab joke - what a darling girl!
He was still enjoying the evening when she snapped at him - When I'm talking to you, don't you dare! (LOVED Arnav's expression!!)
That got his attention if everything else hadn't and even ASR was pushed to ask whatever was his missus upto!
The answer is rather explosive:
If you can be Khushi Kumari Gupta and follow rituals, then I can be Arnav Singh Raizada and go to expensive restaurant and date!
WOW!
TOTALLY LOVED Arnav's joke about the wine. She drank it for him. He thought she'd figure it out that it wasn't wine, but Khushi is Khushi! She believed him rather than her own sense of taste! She even told herself that she was drunk. I have no idea how Arnav managed not to laugh and give it away!
Despite everything, the date has achieved its goal.
LOVED that she pulled the chair for him!!
LOVED her attempts to look sophisticated and collected as he does.
LOVED Khushi scrutinizing the menu, and her Italian kebab cover up when Arnav offered to help her
LOVED: Yeh Half-plate kyun hai?
LOVED Arnav's attempt to have her drink the wine a la Kala Khatta
LOVED Khushi actually drinking it for him – LOVED Khushi's hiccups
LOVED Arnav actually totally saw though her thought-process!!
LOVED: When she got the champagne, he had to remind her - Khushi, you don't drink!
Par aap to peete hain!
Mind-blowing!!
LOVED Khushi's attempt to pop the bubbly!
LOVED Khushi's PJ about Bubbly and Bunty!
LOVED Arnav apologizing on her behalf
LOVED Arnav mimicking Khushi to make her comfortable - even dancing his arms like she does; nice way to remind her who she is and to tell her that he was absolutely loving her the way she is!
LOVED Arnav telling her that he couldn't possibly make fun of her; she gave no one else a chance!
Khushi told Arnav that she was thankful to him and she knows he's doing it for her.
Arnav knows that Khushi is doing this only for him.
Arnav told Khushi he loves her the way she is and he'd never force her to do anything she's not comfortable doing.
Khushi rejoiced in knowing that and said that she would not change.
LOVED Arnav paying the bill!! That was super - in more ways than one.
Mission Accomplished! I'm guessing...
Possible Foreshadows
1. Arnav: Where there is Khushi, there would be explosions; in fact, multiple explosions!
2. Payal: Khushi got entangled in fairy lights.
3. NK: Put up more fairy lights. There should be halwa - jalwa.
4. NK's T-shirt: Angry Birds; Divide & Conquer
WIL 10th August: The Web of Deceit > The Impact
5. Khushi snapped at Arnav (play-acting) but (unknowingly) took his attention away from a possible discovery of Shyam & Anjali.
6. Anjali dropped the baby bangles (by mistake) and (unknowingly) gave Shyam the chance to hide from Arnav.
These do not point to good signs for Khushi. Hopefully she'd be okay but Arnav, be careful and remain alert for your wife!!
Besides, Shyam escaped twice.
Strange: Khushi and Anjali (and even Dadi Ji) are still protecting him!? If they keep around him, Arnav may not see him at all, till he wants to make himself known.
Why? Is Khushi's promise to Anjali still in the way?
An Angry Creep-wa
A-ha! Snake didn't exactly like it when he had to hide behind the table when outing with his proper wife, while Arnav got to run around freely with his as yet 'fake' wife (as he would put it).
Wazzup, Snake-wa! Did we spy a tad bit of jealousy to see Khushi ji out for a dinner date with her husband - for whom, she declared on your face, she loved.
Haww! Now, remember to keep calm. You tend to lose your senses when you go hyper-wa with insecurity.
Whenever he plans to harm Anjali, somehow Khushi gets the worst!
Daiyya-Ho is fixing some electricity stuff. Good heavens! Whose life is he planning to light up!?
Others
1. Dadi ji is sure gonna rue the day when she sent her dear granddaughter sneakily on a date with a murderer!
Thanks to Shyam, Anjali and Dadi Ji - the righteous one - are blatantly lying and justifying themselves gloriously!
This Shyam-Anjali-Dadi triad is actually rather SAD!
2. I think the Fandom loves the waiter and would gladly send an appreciation note for him, asking the hotel to give him a hike!
On the Lighter Side
1. Khushi: When I'm talking, don't you dare!
Arnav: Wow! The missus is in full splendor tonight! Am impressed!!
2. Khushi: Hum apko pathhar nahi marenge. Hum apko phool marenge.
Arnav: Oh really!?
3. Kakori ke nawab aur wahan ke kebab!
Khushi, what a range of elements!!
4. Arnav mimicking Khushi. AWW!!
5. Khushi getting drunk on Kala-Khatta!
Mind-boggling!
LOVED Arnav's expressions on that one!
6. NK: Halwa hona chahiye
More than what he said was how he said it!!
7. Honestly, this time when the Creep turned up with his rendition of 'hamari rajkumari', I spoke aloud - you, your rani sahiba, and your raj kumari, please get some fresh air!
Well, one can expect fresh from the Creep; not too sure about his royal relations though.
Precap
Garima has finally managed to pick up courage to face Dadi Ji!
Bravo!
Khushi is again looking stunning. Arnav, don't miss it for the world!
Besides, there might be fireworks - of more than one kind.
