Taking the present track of the story we can come across many such situation, where Rishi has been made so naive, that he never takes Indira's utterance of the word 'death' seriously, even when she is asking him to marry again, even when she has been repeatedly saying that she has few days left with her.Whereas, the same character Rishi had been so smart that,he easily deceived Indira regarding her brother's connection with him;he had been so smart that,Rishi easily understood Indira's father's motif behind the deal of "SN",and many more. And when we come to the character Indira, she has always been projected as a curious person, who easily finds out the motif behind her sister's sudden outburst of love towards her,or her mother's unusual affection towards her;or that be Rishi's expression when he talks to her[for instance, when she says her brother Vidit that, sometimes she doesn't understand Rishi,as his eyes say something more than his words, etc.];or it be Rishi's expression when she had asked him to verify his identity,Indira read it right that Rishi was scared.Considering all these,I find a big contradiction being drawn in both Indira and Rishi's characteristics, especially in the present action of the story, where both have been shown to be so naive.Lets take one scene at a time:Indira,as she is ill,she has been looking pale, which Rishi never notices;she has been talking about death and that she does not have much time left, still Rishi never takes it seriously. On the other hand,Rishi, who had been furious at Indira for lying to him about her abortion[which he was made to believe],suddenly calms down, and becomes more caring:this doesn't come to Indira's attention, who knows him so well.Besides,Rishi has a bruise on his forehead, which is so visible even to us:Indira doesn't notice this either,or questions him;and as many of you have mentioned it that,Indira is also made to fail to recognize very clear details about the similarities between her dance partner and Rishi.Whereas Rishi had been so protective about Indira earlier, reading her mind so easily, reading her eyes, and finding out what she had been hiding;now he is made to overlook her signs and feelings.Similarly,Indira, who knows Rishi through and through, have been made to absolutely overlook his characteristics.
All I can say is that, there has been so much of disconnection in the events and the connection between the characters that it has made me feel that there is so much left unsaid,so many emotions left uncared for between Indira and Rishi;and so much more that could have been there.Whether its being done deliberately,or it is the lack of writing skill in the writer,is quite difficult to figure out,but one thing is for sure, that in between this incoherence in the story-line,the characters' flaw of emotion has been compromised;Rishi and Indira's subconscious connection has been detached;it seems like they don't know each other any more.
Well, this has been my analysis on the writer's lack of dramatic skill and its affect on the connection between the story and the audience. And in referring to Indira and Rishi's overshadowing of each others' characteristics,I've not raised my finger at either of the characters;my queries and questions are raised directly towards the writer. So I hope you'll will not misunderstand it to be a criticism on Indira and Rishi. Will be looking forward to your views.
