Oh how I love reading your comments! Thank you so much for them! Have replied to ALL the comments from page 92-99 =) As told, here goes the next chapter!

"So Ms. Pia Jaiswal, would you be kind enough to give me to pleasure of having this one dance with you?" he said in a complete filmy mood. She giggled as she placed her hand in his and got up as well. Abhay pulled her to the dance floor then and both of them found Misha and Maya.

Chapter 26

As they reached the dance floor, the song changed to a soft one. The loud crowd disappeared from the floor and only the couples remained. The lights dimmed giving a spot light on each of the couples dancing. Abhay took Pia's hands and kept them on his shoulder. Then he slipped his hands on her waist pulling her a bit closer to her.

They were lost in the depth of each other's eyes and it was hard not to where their faces were just a bit inches from each other. In the middle of the song, Pia broke the trance and rested her head on his chest. He too wrapped herself in a hug and both continued swaying to the track loosing track of time as another soft song played after wards. The night couldn't have gone any better for either of them. It was a perfect night.

Misha was completely drunk on the other hand but her being her, she was smart enough to keep it hidden till the time they reached home and hit the bed and called it a night. Next morning, she woke up with one hell of a hangover! She yelled the moment she woke up. Pia slapped her shoulder to make her shut up and handed her a glass of lemonade to help.

"Shut up Misha. When will you learn to keep it in control?"

"It was in control. Did any one of you find out last night? No right? That means it was in control. Then again, how would you know? You were too lost in your own fantasy land." Misha kept on cribbing but Pia wasn't listening to any of it. She got lost in fantasy land yet again! It took Misha a lot of shrieks to get her to blink.

It was afternoon and Pia was getting ready for shopping. The girls decided to go shopping before they were due on going back to India. And unfortunately for Abhay, he had to tag along and was left with no choice. She was about to slip on a necklace that went with her top when she saw the pendant again.

She was silly to forget she wore it at times. But then again, she could never remember why she wore it and who gave it to her or if she had bought it! She remembered the moment when Abhay told her he had given it to her. At that time, she knew he was lying. Now that she knew about her mother, she wanted to find out if he really was lying about him giving it or if someone else had given it to her.

She quickly made her way down the stairs to find Abhay. He was sitting in the living room waiting upon the three of them. Pia was the first one to walk down. Before he had the chance to say anything, she dropped the question on him. "Who gave me this necklace?"

"Okay, no hello. I can deal with that." He said sarcastically.

Pia was in no mood of playing around. "I'm serious Abhay. I know you didn't give it me. I need to know."

He made her sit down. "Alright, you're right. I didn't give it to you. Your mother did. It was the night before she left. I do not know why she gave it to you but she did and you have never taken it down ever since. For some reason, it keeps you tied to it. You wouldn't remember when you were young. But as you grew up, you stopped asking why and who and just kept it around you."

She was happy to her mother had given it to her but was disappointed on knowing that Abhay didn't know the reason why she had given it to her. It seemed simple but the connection she had to the necklace wouldn't let her simply believe that it was just a necklace. She felt as if there was a story behind it and she wanted to know.

He kept a hand over hers and continued. "Tell you what, when we go back to India, ask uncle and see if he knows. Maybe he does."

That got Pia's hopes up and she grinned with a nod. Just then, Misha and Maya walked down as well. Misha hadn't gotten changed at all while Maya had put on a dress. Whatever they were wearing, they had come down at perfect timing. And there went the rest of the day. Shopping and eating at the stores in the mall! All four of them came home tired that they skipped dinner. Next day, they packed their bags and day after; they were boarding the plane back to India. It was finally time for them to get back and Pia couldn't wait to tell Arnab that her mother had not left, cheating on him but she had a reason to leave.

They all landed, completely tired and jet-legged from the long flight. Yes, Abhay and Pia had little fun along the way teasing the other and going to sleep hand in hand. But the other two were dead bored, which made the flight seem just as long! The car waited for them to take them home.

No one knew they were coming home. They only knew that Misha was coming back. When Panchi opened the door, it was a surprise for her to see Abhay and Pia stand there as well next to Misha and Maya. And what surprised her even more was that Pia seemed super happy and she didn't miss the couple holding hands!

For sure, there was lot of catching up to do! But before she could question, the other family members along with the Raichand's' came out and all engulfed them in hugs and well-wishes and happiness to have everyone back! Arnab was all set to give a party that night itself. The four resented and so everyone settled on giving the party next day just to celebrate their come back.

What Abhay and Pia didn't know was Arnab was going to announce their engagement in the party! No one from the family had missed the changed parts in Abhay and Pia and the closeness between them. The glow on their faces simply gave it away that they were a couple now.

As evening dawned upon them, Pia called everyone in the living room again. They all waited for her to continue and Abhay gave her a blink of comfort, letting her know that he was there was for. With a deep breath, she began. "It's uhm about mamma'" Everyone soon realized seeing the hesitation that it wasn't about Madhu but about Sugandh. Complete silence surrounded and only her voice sliced through thin air.

She continued, "We have been wrong all along. She didn't leave us." And then she went into telling them the real story and Abhay helped her out in parts when she went weak and couldn't manage to get the words out of her mouth. Everyone was, as expected, stunned on hearing the reality. Again, Pia was a bit teary and the Jaiswal family all comforted each other. It was a relief to know that what they believed in was truth and Sugandh hadn't left them for someone else. At the same time, it was grieving to know that she was no longer with them. They all had deep down hoped that she was still somewhere in the world. Now, they knew she existed, but only in heaven.

Misha was quick on changing their moods and brought the light fun back in the family. They had a cheerful dinner before they all retired to their own rooms. Pia was in her room when she jumped up when someone jumped in through her window. She didn't scream though when she saw it was Abhay.

She gave him a glare and demanded. "What are you doing here? You had just left with you family, right?"

"I was missing you sweetheart."

"What a lie! You've been with me the whole day Abhay."

He pulled her close to her and tucking her hair behind her ear, he replied. "But someone was always in the room. I didn't have time alone with you na."

"Abhay, stop it. Leave now, 'kay? Someone will come in."

"This is no way to treat your boyfriend!" He cribbed and she blushed at the word 'boyfriend'. She gave up trying to get him to leave and lost herself in his arms as he pulled her in a hug. The same love feelings surrounded both of them. Parting from the hug, Abhay kissed her forehead as she closed her eyes, more than elated on having such a person who loved her dearly and whom she loved just as much if not more.

"Abhay, I love you."

Pia said as they sat on the bed, her head resting on his shoulder. He was simply patting her head and speaking in silence. She was playing with the button of his shirt when she felt the sudden need to tell him that. He was confused at that but he replied back as well.

"I love you too Pia. Is everything alright?"

She nodded and stayed silent. He knew everything was not alright and there was something going on inside her head. He made her sit up and look at him. He asked again. "What's wrong?"

This time, she replied. "It's just that whenever I love someone really deeply, they leave me. Mom did and'"

Understanding her fears, Abhay stopped her before she would continue. "Stop thinking like that Pia. Nothing is going to happen and mom didn't leave you. She'll still alive in all our hearts right? Just be happy for the moment and don't make yourself sad thinking about past of future. Present is too precious for you to not enjoy it fully. Understand?"

Knowing he was right, she nodded her head. There was no reason to worry by thinking such silly things when her life would be perfect with Abhay with her at each step.

The next day passed by as Pia watched everyone ordering things around. None of them would let her help saying she continue resting. She whined for a while but eventually gave up and started texting Abhay. Before she knew it, it was evening time. Madhu and Panchi were demanding Pia get ready really pretty.

She didn't understand the fuss. "Mom, what's the need to wear all this? It's just a party after all."

Madhu ordered back. "Pia, stop arguing. Just wear what I'm telling you to wear. No arguments."

And just then Pia started with her arguing back and objections all over again! It is just a party after all! She thought. If only she knew what her dear one's were planning!! When Panchi and Madhu left her alone to get ready, she sighed in frustration and sat down on the bed.

'Where are you?' she texted Abhay. Unlike before, the reply didn't come back instantly. It didn't come at all! That worried her a bit but decided to get ready before Madhu would come back and yell at her for not getting ready.

Minutes later, she walked out of the bathroom to see Abhay lying on the bed, resting his head on his hand comfortably. She freaked seeing the open door and shut it. "What are you doing here?!" She asked as she closed it.

"You asked me where I was! So I thought to meet you instead of replying back." He replied back with a smirk. Pia made a mocking face and replied back.

"You need to leave! Now." she said.

Partly because she feared someone coming in and finding them and partly because the hooks of her salwar suit were open as she couldn't reach them to close it.

He got up and neared her. He then shook his head, denying leaving. She rested her back towards the door as he kept walking towards her.

"Need help?" he asked genuinely. She was taken aback that he knew. She didn't know how he figured out but he did. Abhay had seen her hesitation as she had shut the door. That's how he knew.

She looked away. Yes, she loved him. Still, a girl has her hesitations to deal with; hesitations that never really go away until after a long time. Then she made up her mind. She trusted him of course and sooner or later, she would give herself up to him. This would be the beginning.

Slowly, she was about to turn when Abhay held her by her shoulders, stopping her from turning. She looked up with questioning eyes. In response, he made her walk a step towards him as he himself stepped back. This way, there was some space between the door and her.

He then looked deeply into her eyes and reached for her back to feel. She was again taken aback by the understanding in him. She couldn't help but feel she was the luckiest alive to have a person like him who loved her and understood her so well. He was done before she could come out of her admiring state.

To get her attention, he snapped his fingers in front of her. When she blinked, he asked through his eyes and she shook her head and looked down shying at being caught admiring.

"Uh-Thank you."

"I should leave." He said before she would say it. He moved to go past her and open the door when she stopped him by holding his hand. He looked back to question her for this action. She replied back by giving him a kiss on his cheek. "I'll meet you down there." He gave a blink of understanding and left.

Chapter 27

Minutes later, Pia walked down the stairs to enter an already happening party. Loud music and people all over the place! And here she thought it was just going to be a small welcome home party! Some people she didn't even know surrounded her and started talking to her. Just to be polite, she talked nicely to them as well until she could escape and get a hold of Misha.

"Misha, what in the world is this? I thought it was just a small party!"

Misha looked away and made up a quick lie. "Well, you know how mom and dad are. Gotta go."

She turned to run away but Pia pulled her back. "Not so fast Misha. What is going on? Out with the truth."

"Well… you see…" she began trying to stall it as much as possible. And to her good luck, Panchi passed by. She changed her sentence to, "Birdie, wait." Panchi stopped and she continued, "Birdie will tell you the rest. Bye."

She made a quick exit. Panchi stood there confused. "What do I have to tell you?"

"Nothing, forget it." Pia said thinking she was just over-reacting seeing the crowd. She then spotted Abhay and was about to go to him when she was interrupted by Maya and few of her other friends.

It was around an hour since Pia had made her presence and she just couldn't find her parents anywhere! Ironically, Abhay's parents weren't there either. Then out of nowhere, all four of them stood at the end of the room with a spotlight on them and tapping the microphone for attention. The music was cut off as well.

Everyone soon turned to look at them. Arnab started, "Pia and Abhay welcome home! We missed you dearly. Ladies and Gentlemen, we have gathered here for one more reason than just welcome these two back home." The couple looked at their parents wondering what the other reason could be. Pia looked at Misha who looked as if she would explode any moment.

"Chand and I have been best friends and business partners since years. It's time now that this friendship is turned into relationship. This couldn't happen without Abhay and Pia. I would like for all of you to join us on this occasion and announce Abhay and Pia's engagement."

Both Abhay and Pia went wide-eyed with surprise while all the family members cheered at the announcement. The spotlight came on them as well and both of them only knew one thing. They had to walk up to where there parents waited with rings in their hands.

Now Pia understood why Madhu and Panchi were bombarding her to wear something better and not just a simple dress. It explained why Misha ran away from her, seeing that she couldn't hold a secret in her stomach for long. Pia looked at Abhay and saw the same shock, which told her that he had been kept in the dark about all of this as well.

Madhu murmured to Pia when she reached them. "You both didn't think we're that blind did you?"

"Your mum's right. We're not as blind as we should be at our age." Arnab commented back making Pia blush.

The rings were handed over to Pia and Abhay and one after another, they slipped the rings on each other's fingers while everyone cheered in happiness.
