Angad to play Prithviraj Chauhan

So the spotlight, in the early days, will be on the young Prithviraj, played by Rajat Tokas. The entire cast, except Angad, has started shooting in a lavish set in Baroda, and the show will air later this month. Who plays what The cast is as follows— Someshwar, played by Jas Arora; Kamlavati (Prithviraj's mother) played by Sunila Karambekar; Vijaychandra, played by Milind Gunaji; Shivendra, played by Benjamin Geelani; Prithvi, played by Angad Bedi; Sanyukta, played by Parivah; and Ghori, played by Nirmal Pandey. Says Deepak Segal (executive vice president, content, STAR India), "Prithviraj Chauhan was a great thought for us. This is the first ever series on Indian television on a character who had such a central role in history, and has yet remained unspoken about. A character who is truly larger than life, Prithviraj Chauhan, despite his young age, won many crucial battles and set an example of indomitable character. His life had all the shades of grandeur, bravery and opulence which make for perfect television viewing." Heroic quality Says Prem Sagar, official spokesperson for Sagar Arts Productions, "We feel there's a need for heroism in today's youth, and by depicting the tale of this greatest Bhoomiputra, Prithviraj, we intend to focus on that quality." | |||
