Niki to deliver some good news

After her show Astitva — Ek Prem Kahani came to an end, Niki Aneja Walia left for England to take a break.

Close friends of the actress revealed that she was even contemplating starting a family.

"Niki definitely wanted to become a mom. She was waiting for the right time to get into the family mode. When she moved to London, she thought about becoming a mom."

Oh baby!

So when news of her being pregnant came, it didn't come as a surprise for her friends. A source close to the actress confirms, "She's expecting a child and is due in a few months. But she doesn't want to talk about it as she's superstitious."

When we called Niki to confirm the good news, she was initially hesitant to talk about it. However, on further questioning, she finally relented. "Yes, I am expecting. But I don't want to go into the details."

Taking a break

Chilling out in London for the last five months, Niki is having a good time in the pollution free environment. "I'm finally doing all the things I was never able to do. After working for Astitva non-stop for almost four years, it was high time I took a break," she said.

At the moment, she's busy helping out for a family wedding that will take place at the end of the month.

"I haven't given up acting. It's just that I am taking some time off for me. I definitely am on the lookout for interesting roles and characters. I believe in giving my all to a show when am doing it. I would rather stick to doing one show that offers me something meaningful and substantial, than spreading myself out," she reasoned.

On the personal front, Niki has created a mini India in her house. "I have my chaat and bhutta even here. I can't give up on these things."

As for her plans to return to India, she said, "I will be back when I get something really interesting. I want to get back to acting. It's always been my first love."

The actress has a personal website www.nikiwalia.com designed with the help of her husband Sonny. She frequently checks the mail left by her fans on it and even sends them replies. "I get a lot of queries about my return to acting and how I am spending my days. I have to thank my fans for always being there for me when I needed them the most."
