The second season of Nach Baliye — celebrity couples in a dance com petition — is all set to kick off in September on Star One. The channel has short listed about 25 couples of which only 10 will participate in the second season depending on their availability and other factors like money. Some of the names likely to be in the second edition of the show are Gauri Pradhan and Hiten Tejwani, Renuka Shahane and Ashutosh Rana, Niki Aneja and Sonny Walia, Aamna Sharif and Rajeev Khandelwal and Shweta Kawaatra and Manav Gohil.
We asked a few actors who participated in Season 1 who they wanted to see on the dance floor this time around.
Maaninee Mishra (husband Mihir Mishra had two left feet) said, "Nach Baliye worked because of the chemistry between the couples so it's very important that for the second season too there are partners who have some truly amazing chemistry between them. I would put my money on Hiten and Gauri. I also want to see Gauri Yadav and Yash Tonk, Moulli Ganguly and Mazhar Sayeed and Niki and Sonny." Delnaazz Paul (husband Rajiv Paul by the end of the show was known more for his gift of the gab than his two left feet) went a bit ahead, "I want to see Neetu-Rishi Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor- Shahid Kapur, Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan and Bipasha Basu and John Abraham. These are some good couples who have great on and off screen chemistry." Manasi Joshi Roy (husband Rohit Roy certainly had more chances of winning with his easy dance style) said, "I'd have loved to see Ronit Roy and his wife Neelam but I don't know if they are participating. Of course, Gauri and Hiten and Shweta and Manav should do well because they couldn't be part of the first season." Sai Deodhar (husband Shakti Anand tried hard to match Sai's exuberance) commented, "Not many people know that Ajay Gehi is a fantastic dancer. I would love to see him and his wife and also Hussain Kuwajerwala and his wife Tina. The two guys are really fabulous dancers."
