I am a silent member on this forum, but something about yesterday's episode hit such a chord with me that I am tempted to post. In the scene, where Paridhi is making coffee, I see such a deep, wonderful metaphor. Paridhi was almost throwing in salt instead of sugar in the coffee, but is stopped by Buaji. As her weak ears are poisoned by Buaji, she decides to "sugar" her approach to her mother in law, not because she cares but because she wants to win her over. Then she picks a random compliment, about an old aged, grandmother of five, woman about how her hands are so pretty and that she should definitely put mehndi on it. Not that there is harm in anyone doing that at her age, but perhaps she could have chosen a more believing/genuine compliment to show she cares than something so superficial. Her mother in law, who has seen the world through years of experiences, senses this perhaps... Specially as Paridhi asks if she can go in case Yash and Arti decide to cancel their plan and then immediately jumps to book her tickets - as if she is almost convinced they wont go - or that if someone should make a sacrifice it should be Arti. Gayatri cleverly shuts her up, asking her to wait a day further, and the slyly says, Next time you make coffee, use less sugar. Chini kuchh zyada hi ho gai...Almost metaphorical of her understanding of Paridi's sweet behavior - kuchh zyada hi sweet ho gaya, bahu. Next time, kam karna, warna its so obvious you are just buttering me up to get what you want.
