Rajesh Khanna was India's first superstar. The term superstar was specially coined for him to describe his popularity. But not many people know that Rajesh Khanna's rumoured girlfriend and journalist Devyani Chaubal was the one who introduced this title specially for Rajesh Khanna.
Devyani Chaubal was a journalist and columnist in 'Star and Style' film magazine. It is said that before dating Anju Mahendru, Khanna was dating Devyani. Devyani Chaubal always used to say that she is the one who made Rajesh Khanna so popular in the media and also among his fans. Her fortnightly column called 'Frankly Speaking' was immensely popular at that time. Devyani Chaubal believed that the credit of Rajesh Khanna's success goes to her.
Devyani Chaubal died in the year 1995 and it is said that along with her death, she took many secrets of Rajesh Khanna with her.
