Alright since it is the weekend, I loved what happened with Khushi over the week, and you guys have already started laughing at me -- I think I will give you some more info so you can continue this laughing at the guy that is giving hair tips!!! -- Like you said Anonymity helps!
So, this is when I started working, just out of school and I had learned the "American Way" but I wasnt like the guys born here yet! So, I started the transformation and I thought the way I dressed was fundamental along with the accent -- which had changed already but not completely. So, I started doing the suits and the fashion stuff -- now I was so focused on building companies etc and learning about that stuff (a complete nerd at heart that was totally focused on one goal -- build companies), I thought "belonging" was important!
I was working on "mathematical modeling" when I first started -- so I started wearing suits and was at shows talking to people about my company etc. Pretty soon I was kind of popular and was known as the "talker" and what the guys at the office started saying about me "Styling"! So sometimes visitors misunderstood when I said I was into Modeling among people who didnt understand this!
Now rumors started in the office that I was some "Male Model" and then the stuff that results from that starts -- that I was gay and there was no way I could be straight -- the way I dressed, the way I was well groomed and the way I looked supposedly contributed to this assumption -- combined with the fact that I was the "talker"! Now here is a conservative guy (me) who did not understand what GAY meant! So days passed when people said it on my face and I still didnt know -- yes the question about not learning this at school, yep I went through school without really hanging out with anyone -- had to work to pay for school so I was working 90+ hours a week. So, the fiasco continued till the girl I was with at the time met the people at these people who believed I was Gay and asked me -- what is this gay thing -- you are not GAY with me. You can imagine the remaining ...
Needless to say that I havent done "too much grooming" since -- work pressure helped a lot since I put on some weight and combined with my attitude the danger of being called Gay ended.
Cheers.
