There have been occasions when actors have been caught in situations where they wished they weren't famous. On Thursday, Kavyanjali's lead actor Eijaz Khan had that familiar feeling when he met with an accident that spiralled into a bigger disaster.
Oil slick
The actor was driving towards the domestic airport when his Chevrolet Tavera crashed into a truck. The truck too had skid off the road due to an oil slick when Eijaz crashed into it. "It was quite scary as the oil on the road made the condition even worse. I lost control of my car and it rammed into the truck standing ahead of me. Thankfully, I crashed into the passenger side of the car saving myself in the nick of time."
Minutes after the accident, Eijaz stepped out of the car and went to talk to the truck driver. "There were barricades in front of me that the truck crashed into. By the time I could have a conversation with the driver, he was already driving away."
Another accident
Witnessing the drama, two traffic constables approached Eijaz and started questioning him. "They thought I had crashed into the barricade, and asked me what I was doing there. I told them about the truck which drove off immediately after I crashed into it."
One of the constables who witnessed the accident, came to Eijaz's rescue. "He told me he'd seen the truck crash into the barricade and I wasn't at fault."
During this conversation, a speeding Ford Ikon driving towards them hit one of the constables standing with him. "It happened so fast, we didn't know how to react. Fortunately, the driver didn't escape. We managed to catch him." Eijaz then took the injured constable, Abdul Patel, to hospital.
Eye witness account
After this drama came to an end, Eijaz got his car towed to his house. "My car is in a huge mess," he said.
Khan also volunteered to go to the police station and become an eyewitness to the entire incident. "I thought it was in my better interest to tell the officers whatever I had witnessed." Blaming the entire mishap as a result of the oil slick and the rain, he said, "The oil and the wet mud were disastrous for vehicles on the road. Had that been cleared on time, this accident would've been totally avoided."
