Actresses may looks like pretty dolls onscreen, but off screen it's a whole different ballgame! Unflattering lipstick shades, wrong highlights, I could go on and on. WhenKareena Kapoor first stepped out into the limelight she was hardly the glamazon she is now. I decided to trace her beauty evolution…

2001

Kareena stepped out looking pasty and pallid. Guess lipstick and blush weren't in her dictionary just yet?

2004

While she may have piled on the pounds, her beauty regiment remained almost the same, thankfully this time around she found some lipstick and mascara.

2005

I think this was her worst phase. The garish orange-y blonde highlights did absolutely nothing to enhance her natural beauty. And sadly she caught on to the dark lip-liner-light-lipstick phase. YUCK!

2008

Her image vastly improved in 2008. Her hair was sleeker. The tacky highlights were gone. Kaajal and shiny pink gloss became her signature look and the pale look was banished.

2012

Cut to present day. I think this is Kapoor's best beauty year to date, her skin is glowing. The bronzer is her new found best friend. She also switched it up with her hair – giving us variations at different events. Perfection.

I think she is wearing lipstick here (left pic). I remember those types of shades back then. 😆 And she's obviously wearing lipstick in the right pic too. So I don't know why these two pics were chosen for the caption. 😕

As for the horrible highlights in 2005. Well by 2005 I think it had died out (but perhaps it was only just dying out in India?). But yeah the early 2000s were filled with horrible highlights. (This is not to say I don't agree that that phase was bad. I agree that was a horrible phase. But there was a time when that was 'in'--and it was simultaneous with the dark liner phase that's mentioned.)

That being said, I do think she carries off the non/minimal make-up up look quite well. If I had to choose her without make up and pale or her with harsh make-up as she still sometimes does, pale skinned Kareena any day.

I also don't get what the big deal is if she's pale.

You know what I've noticed?
Her appearance offscreen vastly improved with the entry of Saif Ali Khan into her life.
That's when she started really making an effort with what she wore.

But how is that a fair comparison? Kareena hasn't given birth yet, nor is she as old as Aishwarya.

How is your argument any more valid than my comparison? Are you saying all new mothers devolve as bad as Aishwarya? If so, I can post pictures of celebrity moms on here that got back into shape as quick as possible and look the same as before.

That wasn't the point of my post though. The OP was talking about evolution. So I decided to show devolution, bollywood style. Complete Evolution lesson for everyone. Simple.
