Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Up For Jumma Chumma de de

July 25, 2012, (Sawfnews.com) - Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor will be dancing to the Amitabh Bachchan, Kimi Katkar chartbuster Jumma Chumma De De in Ayan Mukherjee's Yeh Jawaani Hai Diwaani. Ranbir will also lend his voice.

Adarsh Gupta, Business Head, Saregama, confirmed to Mumbai mirror that Dharma Productions has acquired the rights of the song.

Scored by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, the duet was sung by Kavita Krishnamurthy and Sudesh Bhosle. In the original Bhosle had rapped in Amitabh's voice but Ranbir wants to lend his own voice.

There is no news yet on who will choreograph the number.

Katrina Kaif's superhit item song Sheila Ki Jawani, chorepgraphed by Farah Khan, was a tribute to the Jumma Chumma song. One of the sequence in the song had a rustic bar setting where Katrina was surrounded by men holding beer-mugs and splashing water on her, something similar to the famous 'Jumma Chumma' song in Hum.

A source close to the film told Mirror, "Karan Johar, director Ayaan Mukherjee, Ranbir and Deepika are huge fans of the Big B. It was decided they'd do one of his songs and dance in Yeh Jawaani Hai Diwani. The question was which one? The success of Dharma Productions' remake of Mukul Anand's Agneepath answered that question, and it was decided that Jumma chumma with its naughty, perky rhythms and lines would suit Ranbir to the hilt."

Sounds like a chance for the former couple to create some (onscreen)
