Should Mohan get a legal divorce from Ridhima?

Until yesterday i was thinking, why are Mohan n Ridhima talking about the marriage that happened just previous night and has not been registered it? I was under the impression that if the marriage is not registered (doesn't have a marriage certificate), it doesn't have any legal existence. Hence if both the husband and wife want to end their marriage, it is not necessary to get a legal divorce. Hence they can remarry someone else. However i did some research online and found out that as per Hindu marriage act, the marriage that took place between Mohan and Ridhima, is legal. It is not necessary to have a marriage certificate, to prove that the marriage has taken place. A marriage is considered marriage, after certain rituals (including pheras n sindor, mangalsutra etc) like saptapadi etc take place. Hence if either of the parties want to remarry, they HAVE TO get a legal divorce, even if the marriage is not registered. If they dont do that, their second marriage is nothing but a crime, coz it's going against the law. Hence Mohan needs to get divorce from Rid, to make his n Megha's marriage legal.

Please Note: I m not a legal professional by any chance, I m just sharing info that i read online. If anyone else has better information, please share with us.

Not in India ... the govt is considering registering marriage as compulsory ... but its voluntary as of now ...

its beyond stupid what they are making mohan do ... the mohan we have loved all through out would never agree to such a deception ... he has(had) a honour streak a mile wide

mohan must get legal divorce by mutual or not mutual consent before marrying megha .Second marriage during the first marriage subsisting is not only illegal/void marriage but even punishable offence of bigamy under section 494, 495 of the Indian Penal Code.

I agree with Viswa, coz if Mohan doesnt get a divorce from Rid, then his marriage with Megha is objectionable. Mohan is safe only until Rid doesn't object his second marriage. If any day Rid comes up with witnesses of her marriage, her mom n the pandit, then Mohan can be in problem.

YES, HINDU MARRIAGE DOES NOT HAVE TO BE REGISTERED TO BE LEGAL .. OUR RITUALS HAVE BEEN IN PLACE FOR CENTURIES OVER CENTURIES .. Well, Ridz track hasn't ended yet, so probably after everything gets sorted out, MM might take pheras again and that time, it will be legal! Actually I dont wanna comment on it...will wait and watch! I've already been upset over it for days and now not any more cause by the end of the day, this is just a daily soap and whether we like or not, there will be some worst stuff for the sake of business and all...For now, I'm just excited for the wedding cause it seems gonna be awesome by the segments...aage jo hoga, dekha jaayega!

Whatever it is...! Mohan should take a LEGAL DIVORCE...!! But, I know, he will not...! The CVs will not do that...!!

Just for your kind info CVs, just melodrama does not fetch TRPs...!! You go on ruining the show, you will lose loyal fans...!!!

Same here Madhu...;( But, nothing is in our hands...!! Mohan is much more worse than Manav...! Sad but true...!!
