Chapter 87

Maan walked into the mansion, clearly not noticing Dev and Brij.

"Haan Daadima, "He said.

"Hi Son", she said. He sat beside her and noticed Geet's parents and was surprised.

He greeted them too and smiled.

"Do you know why you are here and why they are here?", asked Daadima.

"No", he said.

She smiled and said, "Anurag and Geet's wedding has been called off, Son", she said. "They are here to speak about your wedding with Geet".

Maan did not speak anything for a few minutes. The news that all his problems were solved or the thought that Geet was his, finally, after the entire struggle and all the tension and pain they had gone through wouldn't sink into him. he wondered if this was the reality or a dream. He looked at Daadima with a stern look on his face and then looked at Geet's parents. They smiled at him and nodded their heads. Maan could not speak still. He tried but his voice wouldn't come out. He sat down beside Daadima and everyone else remained quiet. They knew the turmoil in his head. He did not know what was happening. Daadima, finally spoke up, after giving him all the time, for him to slowly come to terms with the reality.

"Maan, you okay?", she asked him, slightly patting his shoulder.

He looked at her and tried to say something, but could not. he tried again, but could not. He was about to clear his throat and say something again, when he saw a hand in front of him, holding a tumbler of water.

Maan , quickly looked at the person holding the tumbler. He was shocked to see Brij.

"Water", he said.

Maan took the tumbler and gulped down the water. Dev looked at his brother's situation and smiled wickedly and came and said, "Brij Bhai, zara hatiye"

Maan looked at Dev shocked, addressing Brij so casually.

"Bro, clear your throat. You need your voice back. Trust me, you need it. You need to go and tell the lady in your outhouse that finally the road is clear", he said, grinning.

Maan raised his eye brow, and everyone looked at him surprised, after hearing the words, "lady in the outhouse".

"Kaun hain outhouse mein?", asked Daadima.

"Daadiji, wahin aurat jiske wajah se, mere veerji, Maan Singh Khurana, iss khubsoorat mansion ko chod kar, us outhouse mein shift hue the", he said and winked.

"Aapke veerji shift nahin hue the, hum unhe dhakka maarke bahar kiye the", said Daadima, laughing.

Maan looked at the both of them angrily and was about to say something harsh but stopped.

Brij and Geet's parents did not understand a word of what was going on and they looked at each other clearly confused.

"Oh well, it's a long story beta", she said looking at Geet's parents and Brij. "I will tell you in a little while. Shall we have breakfast now?", she asked, as she saw Nainatara walk into the living room.

"Sure!", they said and stood up and Maan remained seated. None of them realized, they walked to the dining room and Dev sat with him. Maan was still looking the tumbler he was holding.

"Bro, go and tell her! I'm sure she must be very worried", he said.

Maan cleared his throat and finally he could speak. "Dev, how did this happen all of a sudden?"

"Bro, you should have been glad all this happened, instead of wondering about how and when it happened", he said, smiling.

"Hmmm", he said and got up. Dev got up too and took the tumbler from his hand. "Go, bro!", he said.

Maan walked out of the outhouse and made his way to the outhouse. He literally ran to tell Geet the news. He pushed open the main door of the outhouse and looked around. The entire outhouse was quiet. He made his way to the bedroom Geet was in. he smiled as he opened the door. he wanted to scream it out, that they were finally getting married and that her family had accepted him, their relationship and that they it was all fine now. He quickly walked to the bed and was about to scream when he stopped, looking at Geet sleep peacefully.

He smiled and stood there with his hands folded across his chest, watching her. She looked angelic like always in her sleep. He walked slowly to the bed and sat beside her. He kissed her forehead and looked at her. He ran his fingers through her hair and lovingly patted her cheek. She turned the other side and slept. He smiled again and bent over to her.

"Geet", he called out softly.

She did not respond. He knew she would be in deep sleep afterall she was all tired after her best friend's wedding.

Dev walked into the dining room and sat beside Naintara.

"you are late Dev", his wife reminded him.

"Haan, first was talking to bro and then got a call from office. I did not want to disturb bro, so I finished the work", he said, softly, while she served him some juice. He looked around the table and saw Heer and Kiara involved in a conversation. He saw Brij, his wife and his Daadima and Geet's mom in a conversation. The only person at the table sitting quiet was Geet's dad. He was simply having breakfast and looking around, smiling.

"Enjoying the breakfast Uncle?", asked Dev.

"Ofcourse Beta! Naintara's an amazing cook", he said.

Dev smiled and so did Naintara. "Geet cooks?", he asked.

"No, she doesn't cook much. She knows how to, but cooking some how doesn't interest her much", he said.

"Ah that's fine, Uncle. Daadiji and me will manage", said Naintara.

Mr. handa smiled and said, "My daughter's very lucky to come into such a nice family".

"No Uncle, my bro's lucky to have such a wonderful girl in his life. Well, only she can manage him", he said, laughing.

Mr. Handa laughed too. "I'm sure she must be torturing him with her talks. She talks way too much"

"Geet, we make an amazing couple", he whispered in her ears and she unknowingly, deep in her sleep answered, "I know".

He moved back to see if she was awake and found her sleeping.

"Geet, wake up", he said and she did not respond.

"Geet, I love you", he said sioftly and "we are getting married", he said, screaming in her ears.

She jumped up on the bed. "Maan", she screamed at him, angrily and pushed him away.

"What is your problem?", she asked him angrily. "When I dint want to sleep you made me sleep and now you want me to wake up. Wake up and do what?", she said, angrily.

"Marry me", he said.

"Ah well, how I wish", she said, rolling her eyes.

"Geet, all your wishes have come true", he said, happily.

"Maan, please I am seriously in no mood to joke. Lemme sleep. And mean while, think of a plan to knock that Anurag out of my life", she said, falling back on the bed and turning the other side, pulling the quilt over her.

"Geet, I have to tell you something that is'" and she cut him off, "I don't want to hear anything now".

Maan got angry and pulled the quilt away. He pulled her towards himself and held her tight.

"Maan", she said, angrily and he shut her up, "Chup chap suno. Har baar chapad chapad karna zaroori nahin hain"

She was about to say something when he said, "Chup!" and paused and she looked at him surprised, "Bilkul chup Geet".

He pulled her even closer and held her tight. "I have been waiting for this moment Geet. Nothing has given me this happiness, but a few words from the people who matter to us the most. Every day, for the last few weeks, I've been wondering what was in store for us, for our relationship. Every day came up with new surprises, sometimes good and sometimes bad- and things changed so fast. If there is something that had always remained the same and never changed- its our love, Geet. Will you marry me, Geet and ensure that this love will never ever change?", he asked.

"Maan, I will marry you and that is certain", she said, softly, "But when, how and'.", maan stopped her.

"Geet, your marriage with Anurag has been called off", he said. "Daadima, just told me", he said.

She looked at him seriously first and then screamed, out of happiness. She kissed him on his cheek and he kissed her back.

"I dint want to wake you up, but couldn't help. You had to know this, and luckily for us, I had the opportunity to give you the news", he said.

"Daadiji told you and then what? My parents?", she asked.

"They are in the mansion- your family is", he said.

"That I know. I told them I dint want to attend breakfast in the mansion because I wanted to be with you", she said.

"Yes! So, finally you are going to be with me, forver and this time your family approves it too", he said.

"I still don't believe this", she said, hugging him.

"I would believe it too", he said, "But that's the truth", he said, happily.

She continued to hug him and he hugged her back. After a few minutes she pulled back and said, "After a long time, there was no tension or worry in that hug. There was no fear of leaving your arms and there was no fear of losing you", she said.

"And after along time, I see you smile, happily", he said.

"That I will now! I'm so happy today", she said, smiling like before- the time before Anurag stepped in, to create ruckus in their lives.
