Out of the norm?

Yesterday episode started with Karan asking generations might have changed but has the thinking really changed? Though not all who belonged to prev gen were conservative but there was this unsaid rule that was/is prevalent 'girls who dress up in revealing clothes are most probably sl*ts/flirts' even in movies we are shown that the heroine who is strong headed or the vamp are dressed in western and short clothes and after they change/get married/ mellow down they are shown clad in saree even ghunghat sometimes and with a long plait. What they said yesterday is true, if in the house and in the society people are under this impression then the guy is most probably going to think the same way.
Is it wrong to go against norms? When all in the college or town were dressed from head to toe was naaz wrong in dressing differently? She was comfortable in what she wore still it did not look so in other's eyes. Is the saying 'be a roman in rome' true? if so then how will change happen. May be seeing naaz wear western clothes could inspire someone to change her dressing style and so a change could have happened slowly. I think the fault lies with her parents as well who expected her to adapt quickly. It is not like girls in India dont wear western clothes, it is just the place they went to that was not suitable to Naaz's thinking. was going out of the norm prove bad to her?
The boys who started to think she is 'chalu' were driven by the atmosphere surrounding them, but still they a wrong in believing what they assumed is true. Every man should know it is not manly to force on a woman when she is clearly saying No.

now when i think of it.. even in a western country...if one wore out of the norms...wouldn't ppl stop to look at you?🤔 i guess every region has such ppl...if ppl can adopt western culture living in a western country...den i guess even NRIs can adopt the lifestyle of a common Indian girl?

It's truly a fault of the society that girls who wear short dresses or who have a lot of boys as friends are considered loose character or morally incorrect. That is often not the case and it is not fair that girls should be seen like that.

ya shibz even here ppl will look if we are out of odd but they wont for long time, many dont even look. I wear salwars outside here also and they are least bothered, infact some will compliment and say it is beautiful. My neighbour would ask what bindi is etc. But if I wear shorts to Indian store I can be 100% sure from the sabzi badalne wala boy to the store owner including will give stares and make me feel I wore something inappropriate , even if it is in USA. I am not ggenralising, some Indians dont care what we wear but the percentage of those who stare is high compared to the locals here who might stare if I wear salwar/saree.
Even in elementary schools here there is a dress code. Girls cannot wear tank tops or minis, boys should wear knee length shorts or pants. pants or shorts for both should fit on the waist, low fitting ones are not allowed, tops and pants should overlap when arms are raised, any clothing with holes (even if fashion) is not allowed. Like when I was in school my school had a rule for boys also they have to wear inner tee under white shirt, they cannot wear single layer shirt at any time. I read one article hear long back in a magazine on people who wear transparent clothes that show innerwear are more obscene than those who wear minis that is my thought as well, short clothes are much better than transparent ones.
Once my friend was staring at a girl who was wearng low cut, I asked him sharam nai aati kya aise gur rahe ho use, his reply jab use dikhane mein koi problem nai toh mujhe dekhne mein kya hai, over the years I dont think that argument has changed even a bit. I used to wear skirts even frocks to college, boys would stare but only from far no one dared to question or tease or comment about my choice and my mom would buy beautiful patterned skirts, my aunt would bring from US and we loved wearing them. that was also in small town about 10 12 years ago.
but I wonder these boys who watch so many movies and talk about cities where girls wear all kinds of dresses become so narrow minded when it comes to thier premisis, if they saw naaz in a city like delhi they would probably just stare from far, but here they just assumed she is open to everything and that is deep rooted mentality.
