Abhaas Mehta has become a very popular villain on TV by playing the negative character of Shyam in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (IPKKND) on Star Plus.

Abhaas Mehta (Shyam) has brilliantly portrayed the obsessive lover of Khushi. He made alive the grey shades of his character in the show.

However, Abhaas Mehta has been facing the burden of his role from the viewers.

People shouted at him for portraying a negative character. Abhaas Mehta also got negative comments from the people during Arnav's (Barun Sobti) kidnapping sequence of IPKKND.

Initially, Abhaas was nervous to get negative comments. But slowly he realized that he has done a perfect justice to the role of Shyam and the comments he received are positive for his character Shyam.

Now he feels proud and happy to be a part of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon which made him popular among the audience.
