Soap writing is not classical writing, where you don't have to care about your audience. A daily show runs dependent on people's reactions to it via TRPs. You don't just randomly tell one rude fan to go watch something else. It is a huge turn-off to all the viewers. The overworked creatives think that they are the only ones with a hard job. There are plenty of people in the TV business working equal hours and still plenty more who do much more. Believe me, it really isn't the hardest job in the world. Who does he think he is? Is this post "IF bashing" as he so eloquently put it? I thought bashing was a word limited to the the tween (pre-teen) fans here, guess we need to add him to the list.
Being a writer is no excuse for being caustic or arrogant. He sold off his last whine-y PR disaster of a letter for being creative and emotional and now he's on Twitter arguing with little girls like a 6 year old (sorry 6 year olds). I have known many a big writer who did just fine without abusing his/her audience. No, I am not sorry to be rude. If you take the license to be rude just because you are a writer, I take the license to be rude because I am the consumer and a writer.
All this negativity is ruining the impression of a good show that they have clearly worked hard at. Grow up and realize that not everyone will fawn over you for managing to write a good soap opera or three or even saving the world. If you can't deal with negativity, get off Twitter or use it with a pseudonym. Clearly you want the attention, or else why be minimally famous and use your own name to talk to the IPKKND fans?
