Chapter 2

Jeevika: Virat, w-woh t-teek th-tho hogi na?? (she stuttered out of worry).

Virat: Of course Bhabhi, hamari'I mean appke Manvi ithni strong hai..usse kya ho saktha hai??..Hmm' (he replied consoling his Bhabhi when even he didn't understand anything and sped up the speed)

He had been speeding down the road for the past hour, since they had left the house just praying for Manvi's safety and also that he won't get stopped for speeding by the cops. His Bhabhi was also worried for Manvi and so luckily she didn't notice his speed either.

Jeevika kept praying and wishing that nothing happened to Manvi. Knowing that Manvi would never go see a doctor unless it was a major problem didn't help her any. She glanced over at her devar who was driving at full speed and just kept hoping that they would reach Ludhianna soon.

Ludhianna-Chaudhry's Mansion:

Manvi was sitting on the couch and watching Beeji and Madan Chachu pace around for the uptenth time since they had gotten home. All eyes were on the door waiting for Jeevika Di to arrive. It was one of those millions of times were she had wished she would have held her tongue and not spilled everything out. Their only hope was to convince Di it was nothing major.."If only it wasn't a lie it would have been a lot easier to convince her", Manvi thought. "Thank God Arjun Bhaiya tho kaam se US gaiye huai hai warna woh bhi mujhe maar dehthai..Unse tho tu bar bar bachgayi Manvi, bar bar bachgayi..".

(An Hour Later)

Virat slammed the breaks outside Bhabhi's house and quickly jumped out of the car and hurried on towards the front door where his favorite Bhabhi had already pushed open the front doors without waiting for anyone to open them for her.

Manvi was jerked awake from her nap when she heard the car brakes slam..(she had fallen asleep while waiting..how come? That had never happened before'probably the sickness, she reasoned and looked up when the doors slammed open next. When she looked up she saw her Di staring at her from head to toe as if she wasn't looking at her but taking x-rays with her eyes. The next second her Di was flying towards her and burring her inside a warm hug. Closing her eyes Manvi felt as if she has found the whole worlds peace in the same spot and felt as if all her worries had vanished the instant her Di had hugged her. It had felt as if her Di had hugged all her pains and sorrows from her body into her own.

Jeevika: Tu t-teek tho hain na Mannu? (she asked pulling back from the hug so she could examine her sister again.

Manvi: Ha Di' I'm fine app ithni kyun fikar karthi hai meri?

Jeevika: Saach' tho pir tu hospital mein kyun thi?

Manvi: Kya di.. who tho bas aise hi Beeji mujhe regular checkup karwane leh gayi, woh garmion ka mosaam shuru ho raha hai na, or machar wagaira bhi naklne lagthai hai..bas issi liye or kya Di..

Jeevika: Saach?!?

Manvi: Ha Di..or kya' (Manvi breathed a relieved sigh'her plan was working!)

Jeevika: Whew'main tho Dhar hi gayi thi..

(Manvi opened her eyes to look at her Di but was left staring infront of her at the man who stood in the middle of the front doors. He looked as if he had crossed seven oceans to get to his destination and as if he would destroy mountains if he was stopped now.)

Virat watched as his Bhabhi hugged Manvi and bombarded her with all the questions that he wanted to ask her as well. Just seeing her standing and smiling at his Bhabhi seemed to lift a thousand tons off his chest. "Maybe nothing was as major as they had made it?", he thought.

Virat: Namaste Beeji, Namaste Chacha Ji. (he said as he took their blessings)

Beeji: Jethai raho beta'kaise hai sab Chandighar main?

Jeevika: Sab teek hai Beeji..sorry maine appko Namaste nahin kiya, who main Mannu'

Beeji: Arre koyi baat nahin beta'kya hum nahin jante kai Manvi teri behan kam or bachi zyada hai?

Jeevika: Thanks Beeji..

M. Chachu: arre beta humse bhi tho mill leh'( he joked pulling Jeevika into a hug)

While Jeevika was meeting up with Beeji and Chachu, Virat walked over to his partner.

Virat: So partner, kya haal chaal hai?

Manvi: Arre partner, dikhtha nahin kya, main abhi bhi fit and fine hoon..waise tumhe kya hua, lagtha tho aise hai jaise gaadi chala kai nahin bhaag kai ayai ho..hmm? (she teased him while giving him a smile)

Virat: Woh tho iss liye kyun kai Bhabhi koh tension ho rahi thi na..tho bas issi liye..( he stalled)

Manvi: Kya di seriously ithni pareshan thi meri wajah se (Manvi asked getting serious, while she watched her Di chat with Beeji)

Virat: Inthi nahin' bas yehi lagh raha tha kai jaise ajj kai iss ek pal main unki poori zindagi ka faisla honai jaa raha hai'(he replied watching her expressions for any give away, for he had realized that something here was very wrong, something was definitely wrong).

"Virat yaar, kuch tho garbar hai' or tujhe pthat lagana hi padega kai kya'?" He thought to himself as he just watched his Partner in action. Man had he missed her, it seemed as if he hadn't seen her for years instead of a few weeks'
