Guys a thought just came to my mind - Jai is determined to rebuild that house for his wife Bani .. which indirectly is a symbol of, or rather a personal monument of Jai/Bani's Love --- the love he has for bani not forgetting the guilt for demolishing it , in his fury to build a Casino on that very land . jai's karma's have come calling .

another such symbol of Love the' Taj mahal' was built by Emperor Shah Jhan for his queen Mumtaz .

Your comparison is rather unfortunate. Taj was a tomb built after Mumtaz's death. We dont want that, do we?
