I've posted before and on my very first post got very positive results so I thought it was time to see if there are people who agree with me on another matter. Maybe I can bring a positive change in the IPKKND? fans with this.I me a girl can dream. I intend to dedicate this to those who hate Shyam especially to those who use public forums to announce their hatred.
What I am trying to put down in ink is something that has been nagging me for quite a while and its proving harder that I thought to mould my thoughts in a post. So my post might be a bit confusing (I think).
I warn you, its long but I think it is at least worth a read.
This is a post regarding ABHAAS METHA or more popularly known as SHYAM MANOHAR JHA, the bas***d in IPKKND?.
So to people who hate Shyam, I suggest that you take a few minutes to read this.
I hate Shyam. That is the truth and I'll be lying if I say otherwise. I hate him and wish for the deepest pits of hell for him. He is unfaithful to Anjali, whom we have come to love and adore. He has his eyes set on Khushi, whom we can't imagine to be with anyone other than ASR. He's wishes Arnav no good fortune, for which we could kill him (because all the hard-core IPKKNDians have declared hatred towards Arnav/Khushi a capital offence). He is immoral for what he did to Khushi's dad, Shashi Gupta.
He's dishonest.
He's a cheat.
He's creepy.
He's ruthless.
He is cold blooded.
He is cruel.
He's a conniving bas***d if truth be told.
No one likes these qualities. And these all qualities are concentrated in one entity that we call Shyam. I mean he deserves be electrocuted, stabbed, shot, decapitated, hanged, drowned and other painful way to die. That still won't satisfy many so he should be brought to life again and again and repeatedly killed in multiple horrific ways like throwing him off the a cliff or running over him by a bus.
I think I've written enough to convey how much I hate Shyam.
But my hatred towards Shyam is not what I intend to convey in my post. The whole fact that I hate Shyam with so much intensity is the proof that Abhaas Mehta is a brilliant actor.
No one can deny it. And no one should.
I mean the way he portrays Shyam, the way he makes us hate Shyam proves that he can act. And not only act but he is freakin' good at it. Abhaas is so good at his job that when most IPKKND? fans see him, they don't identify him as Abhaas but as Shyam. Though this helps his acting career but it does not earn him many fans.
Now I come to my point.
I've read many comments that Shyam is so ugly. He has creepy face. He looks like a snake. He is this. He is that. We can all fill the blanks ourselves. Personally, I think of Abhaas as a reasonably good looking man, even handsome. He is talented, well-spoken and an amazing actor. When people write, 'I can't stand his presence'. 'I hate Shyam'. 'Shyam go to hell!'.' 'F**k off Shyam'. 'He is so creepy, make the production house change the actor.' That just proves how good an actor he is. But when people write such comments, they tend to forgot that though Shyam and Abhaas share the same face, but in reality, they are two different people. And the biggest example of this difference is that
Abhaas is real-made of flesh and blood.
Shyam is fiction-a figment of the Gul's imagination.
We you comment on the character's face, your actually commenting about the actor. I've learned one thing in life is that beauty is mostly relative. When I first saw Barun, I thought he was okayish-looking but as I began to watch IPKKND?, day by day, I thought Barun began to grow more and more handsome. But how is this possible?
The thing is I grew to like ASR which made me look up Barun on the internet. The more I searched, the more I began to like him. And then, the way I saw Barun/ ASR changed. I began to see that he has a killer smirk, very gorgeous and expressive eyes, the amazing dressing sense but mostly, he is humble and down-to-earth. I'll say the same applies to Daljeet and Sanaya.
What I am trying to say is that the more you like someone, the more you begin to find little things in them that make you like them more. But it goes the other way around to. The more you hate someone, the more you begin to find little things in them that make you hate them even more.
Unfortunately for Abhaas, he got the wrong end of the stick.
Since we hate Shyam so much it makes it obvious the people would look for more reasons to hate him. You'd say what is wrong with that? If you dislike someone, why would you look for reasons to like them? But like I mentioned before, this is case of fact and fiction. People love to hate Shyam. But sadly, they lash out their hatred for Shyam on Abhaas. I previously heard that Abhaas had to deactivate his facebook account because of the hate-mail he was receiving. I mean seriously? Don't they see that he deserves fan-mail? Not hate-mail. Could the people be soโฆ blind?
We have to make people realize that Abhaas is just an actor. He plays Shyam but he is not Shyam. I repeat, HE IS NOT SHAYM. People have to stop taking their anger on all the vile things Shyam does on Abhaas.
I like Sanaya. I like Barun. I like Daljeet. Not only this, but I like Khushi. I like Arnav. I like Anjali. I like all the cast and the crew. So when I comment about them or the characters they portray, I don't have to think twice before writing. Because why would I pen down something bad about someone I like, whether real or fiction.
But the case with Abhaas is different. I like Abhaas but I hate Shyam. So every time I have to comment about Shyam, I make sure that I am not writing anything which might imply that my comments are directed towards Abhaas. It goes the other way around. When I comment about Abhaas, I make it clear that my words don't imply that I'm talking about Shyam.
Most of the comments I see regarding Shyam are not very pretty. That's very justifiable. I hate him too. But when people comment, they tend to mix between Shyam and Abhaas and in this confusion, instead of commenting on Shyam, they comment on Abhaas or vice versa.
I think it is getting confusing so I'll try to say it in simple words (but no promises though ;) ).
In simple words, I'm requesting the people to be careful. When you post, try to make it clear whether you are posting about Shyam or Abhaas. Because, what you intend to direct towards Shyam, if not carefully worded, could prove to be very hurtful to Abhaas.
Be fair people.
Be practical.
And most of all, the next time you speak about Shyam/Abhaas, keep in mind that they are two different people sharing the same body.
Abhaas is good. Shyam is not.
Abhaas is real. Shyam is not.
Our carelessly worded comments can hurt Abhaas, but not Shyam.
So all I ask you is commend Abhaas for playing a bas***d marvelously, but don't hate ABHAAS for playing Shyam. He just acts. Keep your feeling and thoughts regarding Shyam separate from your feelings and thoughts regarding Abhaas. Have very distinct and clear boundaries between the two. Appreciate Abhaas and hate Shyam. Abhaas deserves a standing ovation, not what he is getting from the fans for playing Shyam.
We should be ashamed of ourselves regarding our treatment of Abhaas. Just because he plays the only unlovable character Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? does not mean that he should be alienated from the love we have for the whole cast. He deserves the same respect. The same appreciation. And same amount of pat on the back which we shower to the rest of the cast. So don't deprive Abhaas from all this. He is as hard working as any of the other actors. And personally, I think he is as good an actor as Sanaya or Barun.
So love Abhaas. Hate Shyam. And maintain a clear and thick line between the two, the next time you say anything about Abhaas/Shyam.

P.S. I have one more request to add. Those who agree with me- even if you agree .0000000000001%- share this post so that we can spread the word quickly. I'd appreciate if you comment so that I can know of your views on the subject matter. Thank you.
