She has taken the small screen by storm. Her portrayal of the school girl next door has been well received on Star One's Remix series. Priya, a Delhi girl who loves Mumbai, believes that her attitude is her hottest and most sizzling asset. "I have that Lolita look! And I have the right attitude. I believe the show portrays the youth of
the times and that's what works," she says of 'the series.
So how did television happen to the 'girl next door'? "I had no real break. I was modelling and that's when I got noticed. That set the ball rolling. I am happy with a youth-oriented role in a world saturated with family soaps. TV is evolving and I am at the right place at the right time."
The lady just loves her small screen self. ''TV is the visa to instant fame. It is such a 'now' world. I think that as television booms it
. will produce stars in their own right."
And what about fan mail? "Gawd, it can be embarrassing sometimes. I get mails from all age groups. Some are cute and some I would rather not talk about!" So is she comfortable with the combination of dyed red hair and the school uniform? 'Absolutely. This is what goes on in schools nowadays. What we show in Remix is just the tip of the iceberg," says the perky girl.
And is she interested in bagging more television roles beyond her current serial? "I have received some TV offers as well as a couple of movie offers. Though I am not really a Bollywood person, I would not mind thinking about the opportunities that have come my way. What I really want to do is a movie belonging to the cross-over genre," says the ambitious debutante. Are item numbers meant for her? "Not for me. I am not an item girl," is her attitude-loaded reply. So till a cross-over happens, stay glued to this bubbly gal on Remix
