Will Iqbal Outlive Angad????

I have thinking, keeping in mind the popularity of Iqbal as Angad. Do U think Iqbal, the actor, would be able to Outlive the character of "Angad". Would he still be as popular long after KYPH ends???

I know how popular Iqbal is on this forum, a couple of U R even virtually married to him😛. I have limited idea if Iqbal carries a Mass Appeal. In India the majority Of movie- goers R men, so If an actor does not a mass fan following among men, its hard for him to be popular, example Arjun Rampal. Let me ask U a bunch of questions, please Answer honestly:

1) Does Iqbal has the potential to have a mass appeal (i.e. Be popular among both men & women)?

2) Will the charcater of Angad tie Iqbal down to doing the anti- hero roles in movies or TV shows??.( Like Shraukh Khan had a patch of Anti- hero roles in his career following the success of Darr, followed by Bazigar (Or maybe its the other way around) & then Anjaam, until finally he got a chance to do a DDLJ & come out of that frame)

3) Since they R floating an Angad dressline, would ppl be able to look beyond Angad, since he has the danger to be stereotyped. Would ppl like him in the minus all the Angad embellishments??

4)Would the audience be more kind to a "Bullet" or a "Funtoosh", now that we know him as Angad, or would these movies face the same fate, if realeased today??

Would the Charcater of "Angad" prove to be Iqbal's SWAN SONG, or Iqbal will go on to create more such popular characters??

personally..i think my hubby iq has a lotta potential in him!..its just tht he sud work himself down in the right kinda projects and not do nethng that comes his way!...for a while..it sure will be hard for iqbal to get outta that angad image but as soon as he starts doing somethng qualitative..ppl will start recognizin him in that avatar!! so basically..its up to iq himself to prove that he can be other chracters then angad..like for

example..nausheen..it has been very hard for her to get outta tht kkusum image..but sadly she hasn't proven that is can be nethng other then kkusum!!! infact most ekta drama ppl get sterotyped! but iq has to prove his talent..wen he cud make it this far..m sure he'll make it big in future

He rulz! I think Iqbal will remain popular for the rest of his life. Noone will b able to forget Angad or even let him forget Angad!!

Even if Iqbal does get to do bigger roles..i think it is Angad which got him into the limelight in the first place...

well i guess he will be known as angad only and not as iqbal to the mass population and by that i mean the grass root ppl and small town...

and i guess it happens with everyone..... look at smriti irani she is known as tulsi...

and it happens with movie stars too..... ppl in india still say that i like the guy who plays terminator and not arnie...

to answer your question, characters die but souls live forever. Angad may disaapear off public memory when KYPH ends or whatever, but remember its Iqbal who has made the character of Angad Popular ! Hewill have to work his way off to get off that image of his as angad but hes a professional who will go places. An actors job is to act and react according to the situation and what use is the actor if hes able to get off a particular garb and get into another. To answer your questions:

Angad may get forgotten but it will be iqbal who will live forever. Iqbal is a good actor who i am sure will do justice to any kind of roles provided to him

the character of angad may not tie Iqbal down but seingv the roaring success of Angad, wont be suprised if other serials also have a angad like character in their serial!!!an actors job is to act and react according to the kind of situations imposed upon him. I dont know Iqbal personally but from whatever i have read about him, my gut feeling is that the character of angad may not tie Iqbal to doing anti hero roles. angad is not an anti hero. Hes just a normal guy with shades of grey in his personality. All of us are not perfect and neither is angad. angad is just a garb that iqbal has to play and being a professional, he will have to enact any kind of roles that come his way. sharukh had a spate of anti hero roles in his career as the script demanded that type of character

why shouldnt people like him minus all the angad embelisshment. Its Iqbal who has made the character angad what it is. Lets not forget that!

i think the movies would have met the same fate if realeased too...script matters so does the direction and a comibation of others factors go towards the making of a successful film/television serial. an actor is just one of the things that go towards the making of a successgul film. Hrithik was a star after KNPH but look at the fate of yadeein, mujhse dosti karoge etc

Hmm, I like the different viewpoints U all have. Hmm, I personally am not sure where "Angad" would leave Iqbal. It might help him later on or actually stereotype him. I have serious doubt abt how easy it will be for him to break the image. Lately all the TV actors who have ventured into movies, their image has followed them everywhere & it has been hard for them to get out of the shadow. I wouldn;t be surprised if he is only offered Angad type roles in future, thus burning him out prematurely . But I hope that is not the case.
