Arohi's dad was by now convinced Arjun and Arohi were going to stick to his condition and were going to marry each other. He had to gulp it down for his own daughter, and he knew through many examples that if he forced his daughter to forget him and get her married to someone else, there is slim chances she is happy. By what little he has seen of Arjun he seemed to be a man of principles and he had seen the sincerity in his eyes. He was going to take good care of Arohi there was no doubt in it. And by accepting their love he will be making his daughter's life happier. That was what he wanted. Other complications if arised can be dealt with proper understanding and solutions. Making up his mind he left his college not to his home but to meet Arjun's dad. He asked the security gaurd if he knew anyone named Arjun and he wanted to meet his dad. Ismail Khan had just returned home when the security gaurd sent someone up to tell him there was a gentleman waiting for him downstairs to meet. Upon seeing Narayana Dwivedi waiting in the lobby he said hello. He remembered that they were living in the same building earlier. They introduced themselves. It was an awkward conversation to begin with. Arohi's dad expressed his concern about religion being different and how arohi will adjust to their house and how they will feel to have her in their family. Arjun's dad said he cannot lie and say everything will be allright because he too knows it is not that easy, that too in daily life when routines are different. While it is not new that a girl who gets married and goes to inlaws place adpots herself to the new environment, it is not that easy here as the fundamental beliefs are different and arjun was not goint to let her change her religion. Arjun's dad said he has been thinking of something for a while and if arjun agrees it will be easier for the couple and also for avoiding friction that could arise. He wanted to buy an apartment that is available just one floor below, that way Arjun and Arohi can live their life their way without being questioned. Arohi's dad felt that was a very practical solution but he didnot want it like because of Arohi their family should divide, as she is a very amicable and easy going girl who will quickly adapt to their family. Ismail Khan said it is finally upto Arjun who will decide when he comes back. Narayana Dwivedi asked if Arjun was still at work 'nai shayad so raha hai ya phir kaam ke liye nikal raha hai' he added further 'woh yaha nahi rehta ab, america mein hai' This is was more than a surprise to arohi's dad. 'America mein hai? kab gaya, maine toh abhi abhi dekha hai' Ismail Khan could not contain himself from adding 'abhi abhi nahi Narayana saab, 10 mahine pehle gaya hai, aapne jo shart rakhi hai usko yaha par rehke nibhata, toh kya main apne bete ko dekh sakta tha aise yaha, nahi. woh meri bhi baat manta hai maine kaha jaao woh gaya' he said proudly. 'maine shart rakha isliye taki yeh pata chale sach mein dono ek sath zindagi bitana chahte hai. Agar woh jeet gaye toh theek hai, isiliye yaha par aaya hoon main, aap kushnaseeb hai, mujhe toh roz apni beti ki udaas chehra dekhna padta hai'. Ismail Khan did not say anything. 'toh kya woh jaldi vapas ayega' thinking to shimself he cannot see arohi like this anymore. 'aa jayega' Arjun's dad replied with confidence.
Arohi's dad after reaching home called arohi. 'tumne job chod diya, reason nahi bataya, lekin ghar mein baithke bore hogi itna din kaam karke. meri ek friend se baat karunga unke office jaoge?' 'kaha par hai papa' the place he said was enroute Arjun's apartments. 'Nai jaungi papa waha' 'kyun nahi beta' 'main uss area ki taraf nahi jaati hoon, aur thode din ke liye toh nahi' her dad insisted to know why. Arohi burst out 'kyunki waha par arjun rehta hai, main use dekhna ya milna nahi chahti, accidentally bhi, mujhe uski baat rakhni hai, aur 2 mahine hi toh hai, uske baad hum sath honge na , tab jaungi kahi par bhi'. Arohi's dad now knew she did not even know he was not in India. It hurt him more. All these days along with living up to his one year clause she has been also worried about bumping into Arjun. So she has no idea about him and naturally arjun too has not tried to contact her. His belief in their love deepened. He wanted to tell her what he knows, that he met his father, that now he too approves of Arjun and is ready to give her hand in marriage. But then if she wanted to stick to the conditions and prove that they won fair and square then he would not want to spoil it by giving this info.
He told arohi's mother later that he has no doubt now, they should be prepared for the wedding, he told her not to tell arohi anything about arjun right now. Before Padmavati could take in the news the phone rang. It was madhav's mother. She said there is no point in taking the talks forward as her son told her Arohi was not interested. She wished arohi the best and told that she wishes arohi is happy with the person she loves. Padmavati was deeply hurt. This was her only hope to get arohi leave arjun. She told Madhav's mother that Arohi is being childish and does not know what is good for her. She told her she is affected by movies and books and knows deep down her daughter will be suitable only in a house like Madhav's. She insisted upon giving it another shot as she knows that arjun has already left the country and she will convince arohi soon. Madhav's mother wanted to say no, but as she knew her son's interest in Arohi, she too gave in to Padmavati and said if arohi agrees wholeheartedly then she too can think of taking it ahead.
She went to directly confront Arohi as to why she had to tell about Arjun to Madhav. Arohi who was quiet from the evening she encountered madhav, thundered on her for talking about her and madhav with his mom. Her dad came to know what had happened. Padmavathi defended herself by saying if Arohi and her father can think of her future why cannot a mother do the same. She wants Arohi to be happy and she knows all this love and attraction is momentary. She
will be thanked after few years and she is right in what she did. Arohi's father was
disappointed with his wife's move, He told her if Arjun and Arohi were ready to wait for a year, they should wait for that year to complete. Arohi's mother said she does not see that happening now. Arohi's father warned her not to utter one more word on this and left to get some fresh air, all this was too much for him in one day. Arohi's mother quipped 'muh band karvane se sach nahi badlega' Arohi who was leaving from there came back and asked why her mother thought she and arjun wont get married. She challenged if she felt so she is wrong, because they will prove it. Arohi's mother lost her cool too, she said if arohi is so confident then she should have no problem in agreeing to her condition as well. Arohi took the bait. She asked what it was. Her mother used arohi's vulnerability ''agar woh nahi aaya theek uss din jis din yeh shart khatam hoga, toh uss din tumhe meri baat manni hogi' 'kaunsi baat' 'woh main bataungi tab' 'aur kya hoga yahi na main madhav ya phri koi gaurav se shaadi karu, aur bhi koi shart hai toh rakho, 2 mahine baad sab kuch chod ke chali jaungi, tab rehne apne sharton ke sath' she went towards her room then came back 'maine haan nahi kaha na aapko, ab bol rahi hoon, haan, jo bhi shart rakho un sab ke haan hai meri, karo jo bhi karna hai' she went inside her room and slammed the door.
Padmavati did not regret what she did, after her husband told that arjun was in America her hopes got up but when he said he thinks they should get ready for the wedding and later when madhav's mother called she became desperate. She was 100% sure she was doing good for her daughter because she was scared to accept the different scenario that was about to take place, out of the usual, in her
family.
Once in her room Arohi could not stop crying. Why wasnt her mother as supportive as her father and brother. How she wished Akash was here. How she wished Arjun was here. She remembered her mother's words and why she accepted it. aisa hoga hi nahi ki woh nahi aayega, woh der kar hi nahi sakta, arjun agar tum nahi aaoge mere paas toh main aaungi tumhare paas, jaha bhi ho tum. Determined that her confidence in them was right. 'arjun arjun arjun' she thumped the pillow and cried again.
Arjun was restless. Just yesterday he had dreamed arohi coming to him, they walked but encountred a trench. He jumped across first to give her his hand and pull. Suddenly the trench got wider. He was on the other side. It not only got wider but rose up, blocking his view of her. all he heard was her feeble voice calling out to him asking him to come soon and get her. Before he could assure her he was awake. Why the dreams were getting more sadder and sadder, is she in trouble. how can he find out. He found himself helpless, if only he could call her and let her know where he is, how he is. he could only tell her mutely main aa jaunga arohi, tum intezaar karogi na mera.

with this spirit they had to wait and they did for almost two more months.
Everyone was emotionally charged. Arjun's parents that their son was returning after a year. Arohi's father and brother for the reason that arohi will soon be married. Arohi's mother if her plan will succeed. Arohi and Arjun just so they could see each other again, that is all they wanted for now. To see and talk, to touch, to cry, to laugh to live to experience the wonders of the world together. Arjun bought his ticket so that he will be in India a day before. So he can go to her in good form. And the time came. Arjun was to leave the next day evening. He had everything packed. He was relieved from his office that evening. He had the cab booked. And he waited for the day to dawn, he slept only because he can dream of her.
As expected she came, it was not a sad dream. She was happy, he was happy, they talked, they counted the planes in the sky, she chose which one he should come in, he agreed. very silly very light very short dream. but glad he atleast got one more night to dream, kise pata hawaijahaaz mein itne shor mein bheed mein sapna aayega ki nahi. Short yet sweet dream would suffice for now.
Next morning he did not have to go to work so he was relaxing. Stephanie did not go to school either she came to bus stop but did not get on instead she preffered to just walk the trail. She was upset since she was summoned by the principal the previous day along with another girl who had bullied her that stephanie was trying to be smarter than others and inturn stephanie retorted and hence had received a warning. She felt she was picked upon even if it was not her mistake. She did not want to go to that school anymore. She walked absent mindedly along the lonely trail along the woods that continued beyond the development. She heard a muffled sound. Worried if anyone was injured she followed the sound a few steps inside and saw an elderly man bleeding and trying to say something. She went near, she didnot bring her cell, the man tried to hold her hands 'they are terorists' he could say before succumbing to his wound. Shocked and scared stephanie started to run towards her house. Arjun was coming out of his apartment the same time. She bumped into him. Seeing her state arjun was concerned. He asked what happened. Between sobs and rapid breathing she told him she saw someone in the woods and what the elderly person had said last. She and Arjun went back to the same place. Arjun was checking the pulse of that person and dialed 911. He was about to talk to the operator when they heard the ruffle in the leaves. A man took aim at him stephanie saw this and pushed arjun aside, she got hit in the back. Arjun ran behind the person, by the glimpse he got he knew he had seen him earlier, there was no time to think but only try and catch him. The person sped away in the car that came to help him. Soon he heard sirens, an ambulance came. He called Debbie, went alongwith stephanie. The elderly person was also taken to the hospital. The area was sealed.
Once stephanie was wheeled into emergency, things started to hit arjun. She had saved him, she had pushed him aside and took the shot. It would be him lying on that bed fighting with death. Debbie arrived, she was distraut, Arjun did not
know how to console her. Cops came to question him. They took him with them, he did not even think of mentioning his flight, for now he thought this matter held priority. They checked his records. He told them what stephanie told him. The word terrorst put them on high alert. The car that had sped was caught. Arjun was asked to identify. It was not the same person. Arjun said there must be two of them. which meant one of them escaped. Arjun tried hard to remember. Once the profiles of suspected associates were drawn arjun recognised one of them. More investigation was done, He was amazed by the speed at which they were dealing. Not a second was wasted. Within hours they knew he was a person who lived in the same apartments as arjun , by the name Abbas. A search was on for him. Being a muslim in a scene involving a muslim accused and coming from the same apartments made the authorities suspect him as accomplice as well. They interoggated arjun further. His apartment was also searched. Though he wanted to question how and why he is being targetted for questioning. He cooperated knowing they were just doing their job. When he was finally let go. He got a brief from the chief. The culprits were plotting some attack when the elderly man happened to overhear or oversee. they chased him and killed him, which led all that happened later. Arjun asked what they were planning. The cheif told him it was high security issue and the one who is caught will be giving them answers.
Arjun came to the hospital to see Stephanie. The visiting hours were over. He had lost track of time. 18 hours had gone by. He called Debbie. She came out. Stephanie was still fighting. She asked arjun to pray. He said he will and he should. He owed his life to her daughter. If she had not pushed him out of the way he would be gone by now. Debbie said may be someone has been praying for his well being hence he was saved. His mother and Arohi's faces flashed in front him and he smiled. Debbie asked when he was leaving. He said he will go only after stephanie wakes up and wishes him a happy bonvoyage
