RSR (Ramanand Sagar Ramayan) and BRCM (B. R Chopra's Mahabharat) are still CLASSICS.

I'll watch these (with their awful production values 😆) over any of the newer versions any day!!!! 😃

I know! And after she left, they tried to work around her absence and bring changes to the storyline. You know the Parijaat flower that Krishna was supposed to give to Rukhmini. Well, they made it look like he gave them to Jambavati. And then they created this enmity between Satyabhama and her. What the heck?

Shri Krishna and his stories are very dear to me and I just couldn't stand that they messed it up so badly. I quit watching after that.

Yes! They are indeed classics! I especially love Mahabharat!
Nitish Bharadwaj was such a great Krishna!

yeah i know, specially watching the tulabhram incident was cherry on top.😆 I watched until narkasur vadh, then left. I could not really digest bhoomi devi so weak and not showing satyavati as bhoomi devi avatar and bhoomi devi acting weird.
i watched now and then for the mahabharat epi but then gave up.
the sagars messed up with DBSK, big time.

^^that they did. Jai Shri Krishna wasn't much better because they really stretched the role of little Krishna, Dhriti Bhatia. I mean, yes, she was cute, but an entire year? Her role should have been no longer than a month. And right after they got a teenage Krishna, the show started to pick up. And that's when they ended it! Sagar Pictures has been doing a bad job each time they attempt a mytho. I'm glad DKDM is atleast maintaining a tiny bit of integrity.

Oh, and another show that you might want to add to the list is Ganesh Leela. I watched the first few episodes of it. Not that bad actually. The Parvati from that show was Yashoda from Ekta Kapoor's Mahabharat. It aired in 2009

Ok will add it.

Oh sagars don't just mess up mythos, trust me then turned history into fiction coz of rajat tokas. & months, ok, 1 yr ok, but rajat acted as teenage , young prithvi for 2 whole yrs before the channel forced the sagars to make prithviraj grow up and we could not even see much of the contemporary history. Anas was the only saving grace of the show towards the end. Not to mention all those impossible prithviraj sanyogita meetings and sanyogita's fathers action like dakhs. Dozens of satvish!!!!!
They also did the same with chandragupt maurya.
Not to mention, to make it attractive, they twist history like anything.

^^lol, I knew they had him for a while, but I didn't know that it was two years! WOW! But actually, Prithviraj Chauhan and Chandragupta Maurya are both a part of Sagar Arts, not Sagar Pictures.

Oh, and I forgot to mention Jai Ganga Maiya. The Sagar Arts website says that it was telecasted in 2003, but I remember watching it when I was in India. I think it was 1999, because I was in junior kg. Maybe 2003 was a rerun? And this was when RS was alive, because he is the narrator of the story.

So could you add GL (Ganesh Leela) and JGM (Jai Ganga Maiya)
