Read the last three updates. So Kushi and Rajeev..hmm ..damn interesting..he accepted her proposal even after he knew that he was a mere distraction!! I think he accepted kushi's proposal so that he can distract himself from V's thoughts..

So Rajeev inevitably rescued V, he can't stand her being the center of some ruckus. ha..ha..

What am desperate to know is arnav's reaction to kushi-rajeev dating..

thanks for the pm..

Chapter 34: Would You Take it the Wrong Way?

During the month after that, things returned to normal. Well, as normal as it could be. She saw Arnav as regularly as she used to, at meetings and occasionally in the hallway. When he needed to meet with her about one of her projects, it was either via email or with another project member with them. He didn't stop by her office, didn't ask her to come see him, and basically never saw her alone. The longer she went in this manner, the more her hormones stopped doing the thinking for her and the more relieved she felt. She and Rajeev had gone on several more coffee dates together before it progressed to movies or early dinners during the weekends. He didn't open up easily, but neither did she and that was alright. He had an easy wit and charm about him that was difficult not to like. She liked his company and thought that he enjoyed hers as well. Upon mutual decision, they never spent any time together while in the office other than when they had to work on their project. They never went to lunch together and they certainly never came into or left work together. Thus, it was easy to keep their – she didn't know if there was enough there to call it a relationship yet – dating under wraps. If people noticed that they were less prickly with each other, they chalked it up to their having to spend so much time together for their project and thus getting used to each other. Or so she imagined.

Things went generally well for about two months. And then, one weekend, she and Rajeev decided to the Cineplex for a new release and then to a rooftop jazz club/restaurant nearby that was part of some fancy hotel. It was the first time that they had gone to a place quite like that and she felt a bit nervous about what that would mean for their... dating status. She couldn't remember the last time that she had been on a date before Rajeev, and for once she wished that she wasn't so out of practice. But, twenty minutes into it, she was relaxed again. He really was quite disarming with his wit and the self-deprecating humor that came out at times, particularly when she felt self-conscious or ignorant about something.

Her knowledge of Jazz only extended as far as Norah Jones and that wasn't even real Jazz. She had admitted as much to Rajeev when he had recommended the idea, but he had merely said, "Art and music appreciation is complete bullshit. If it appeals to you in any which way, that's all that matters. Who cares about its history and what critics say? If you like it, you like it and if you don't, don't let someone else convince you otherwise."

She had laughed at that because he clearly knew the history of Jazz and talked quite fondly about his trips to New Orleans back before hurricane Katrina had stripped the city. But he was right of course, all that really mattered ultimately was whether the music appealed to her. And she had found that it did... it sort of took her to a place where time felt infinitely slower. The couch that they were given had been quite comfortable, the lighting dim, and she had had a glass of wine in her hand... she was sure that time would have slowed down no matter what, but the music had given it an essence and soul. She didn't know when she had relaxed against him or when it had made her warm inside to feel his solid chest against her back.

"I think I am getting tipsy, Rajeev." She had whispered with a laugh towards the end of a particularly languid song.

"I promise to not take advantage of you." He had whispered back and she could hear the teasing rumble of his voice against her back and for a moment had wondered if it would be so very different to kiss him.

"Would you take it the wrong way if I asked you to kiss me?" She had asked then.

He hadn't answered right away and it had made her look up at him.

His eyes had been different then, but he had still kept his tone light as he asked, "Is there a right way to take it?"

She had shaken her head knowing that she would likely feel embarrassed about the whole thing the next day, but just then, she had felt alright.

"Sorry... forget that I said that. It was... a silly thing to ask."

She had been surprised that she felt comfortable enough to still lean back against him, somehow knowing that he wouldn't hold it against her.

"I have a feeling that you want me to kiss you because you want to erase the memory of someone else's kiss. That's a tall order, Khushi. And I think you will hate yourself tomorrow because I couldn't give you the answer that you were looking for." She had heard his whisper from behind her and his words had made her turn around and press her lips against his.

It had caught him off-guard and had almost toppled her off the couch, but he had caught and steadied her before she did.

It had made them both laugh for a moment, but then he had kissed her, just lightly, on her lips.

When he had pulled away, she had closed her eyes and smiled and thought that being with him was like a balmy summer evening after a long cold spell.

When she had opened her eyes, she had seen him smiling at her. "Are you alright?" he had asked and she had nodded before she turned around and snuggled back into him.

And that's when she had seen it. In her direct line of vision, half-way across the room, seated by the bar, Arnav Singh Raizada was kissing a leggy brunette who was seated quite comfortably on his lap.

I don't feel sparks between Khushi and Rajeev. I feel like their just friends. LOL but now I feel like Arnav's reentry will definitely spice things up!😛

Amazing update let the jealous games begin. Loving Khushi and Rajeev they seem like they could be great friends, she seems completely at ease with him. Wonder how Arnav will react seeing her and if Khushi will try and pull any stunts.

I like Rajeev nd like I have mentioned before I like ur parallel leads as much as the leads themselves. Rajeev seems like an old soul nd if I was not set on K & A, I would like Kusi to get together with someone like him. Nice work, Devi

Liking the Khushi and Rajeev friendly dates. That Arnav has woman on his lap at a public bar. 😡 I am sure he is going to spot them soon. I so hope he saw the kisses between them and how comfortable she is with Rajeev. I am feeling bad for Khushi though. I hope she does not give away her feelings. Wonder if Rajeev will notice that something is wrong.

Neat build-up of relationship between Khushi and Rajeev. He is one perceptive guy...I like, I like.

Arnav either saw them before K saw him and placed the scenario of leggy brunette on his lap right before their eyes...or else he happened to be there with said brunette and it was just a coincidence.
Knowing Arnav I don't think so...
So yeah as several posts have said ..."Let the games begin..."

Thanks again for the pm - and the quick updates!!
