Craving for variety moves Siddhant Karnickwho is doing Aasmaan Se Aage after his on screen portrayal as a vampire in Pyaar Kii Yeh Ek Kahaani and the casanova corporate in Mahi Way.
Entertainment Galore
I never wanted to do a nine to five job, yet here I am working for 15 hours in a day! It's like I am out of the frying pan and jumped into fire. But I still prefer doing anything related to performing arts. If one day I am dancing to the tunes of Desi Boyz; some other day I am on stage doing a play and on another day I am shooting for a soap. The reason why I am doing so much theatre and online shows is because I get to perform. Though, TV gets you recognition, being famous is not my only priority.
Comic Capers
I am part of a comedy show on a web portal and our theatre group is going to perform a musical comedy act in Amsterdam. I feel Indian TV shows still don't cater to the audiences when it comes to comedy. Even if it is a small market, you can't ignore that viewership. And the humour we have on the online portal is like the censored stuff, you can go wild with your imagination That humour is something Indian television will not broadcast.
Big Screen Wonders
I finished shooting an offbeat film — Listen Amaya, with Farooq Sheikh, Deepti Naval and Swara Bhaskar in the main roles. After a grueling shooting schedule for TV, shooting for a movie is like going to a spa. The timings are easy when one is doing a movie —there is more emphasis on quality work. I have also done some international ventures; I was part of a French short film Au Revoir which was screened at Cannes this year.
Small Screen Changing
Indian television is not very open to adult content. It is hypocritical; people still watch the same story with the same rona-dhona. I don't endorse such shows. Progressive programming doesn't find takers, which is very, very disappointing.
A Lot Left To Explore
I have also been hosting events and did voice-over for animation movies. Even after doing so many different things I feel there is lot more to do. I'd love to sing, be a stand up comedian and learn pottery. I'd also love to do a reality show. Pay me crazy amounts of money and I'll do anything!
