I will not apologize to the doctors: Aamir Khan

MUMBAI: Aamir Khan, who handled the topic of malpractices in the medical profession in the fourth episode of his TV debut 'Satyamev Jayate', has refused to apologize to the doctors.

Speaking to a news channel, Khan said, "I will not apologise to the doctors, I have not insulted the medical profession. Those doctors who indulge in unethical practices have defamed the profession, not me."

After the airing of the episode, an umbrella body of 21 medical institutions asked the star to apologize for accusing doctors of malpractices. Medscape India said the representation of malpractices supposedly perpetrated by doctors was "rather sad". "Where is Aamir Khan when doctors are assaulted? Where is he when we give free treatment to the needy?" Dr. Kishore Taori, president of the Maharashtra Medical Council had asked.

"The way it was anchored by Aamir Khan, the show was sensationalized. They have given a one-sided story by defaming the doctors. The way things were put forward for the public is objectionable to us," said Dr DR Rai, Honorary Secretary, Indian Medical Association.

However, unrelenting to any kind of pressure, Khan is standing by his decision.

"I will not apologise to the doctors, I have not insulted the medical profession. Those doctors who indulge in unethical practices have defamed the profession, not me."

Well said, if this is the case then the cops should be next in arms when a movie shows a rogue cop. Every profession has a minority who are rogues, there is absolutely no harm in exposing them. If at all it will do the profession a greater services by getting rid of such rogues.

i thought not all doctors are horrible and greedy people

but so wrong

a close friend's mother was diagnosed with tumor in the uterus, cancer.

the hospital doc said its fine, wudnt be any danger to the life,
the second opinion said if the operation happens the cancer wud spread
but the hospital convinced the family and didnt wait for enough time - hurried it up
and aunty passed away recently

am so enraged and sad 😡😭

Why should he apology to doctors ??? Apology is rendered only when one is guilt or he hurt any innocent person purposely.. As far as i know that Amir done a great job by showing malpractices in medical profession actually that happening all over India for long. .. these doctors often understand themselves God even when one goes to them in serious condition .. in my opinion almost all selfish and mean Doctors should sent into prison for malpractice in medical profession because of their careless many ailing persons died.
