sensationalizing any news would grab eyeballs... aamir hasn't done anything otherwise...

he's highlighting the evils because that is what increases the TRPs... nobody wants to hear what good is being done in our society... let's face it... most people tend to focus on the negative...

and when people who have actually worked hard on something, think someone is focusing only on the negatives and projecting them in bad light (even when they are not at fault), it will strike a nerve... so i can understand why the association is not too happy with aamir...

aamir's point i also understand... however, considering the kind of person he himself is, all this holier than thou attitude is obviously off putting...

although, in the long run... these are just small things in retrospect... everyone always talks about it but until the system changes, not much can be done... unfortunately, aamir himself practices the same thing that he is condemning the others for... e.g. doctors earning degrees solely because they can pay for it (knowledge ho ya na ho)... him endorsing his nephew despite the fact that the guy is no better than a wooden plank... it's all nepotism in the end... not just in medical field, but the same happens in politics as well... no matter which profession you look at...

as they say... along with roses, you'll have the thorns as well...

@nirvanlove : i have seen such similar condition in my neighborhood's household, the patient had developed a tumour for so many days, the doctor kept infusing him with bizarre medications throughout and he didn't even diagnosis it, he said everything will be fine. his carelessness took a toll over and he passed away last year...these doctors are no saints. infact, medical profession is the only where a person can create a crime much more legally.

waise, cases like these are everywhere... even in the US, where there are such strict laws...

i do know of a person who had constant complaints about chest pain... and the doctor kept giving them pain medications... eventually, it was discovered that the woman had breast cancer... she had to get an operation done and everything... her husband was so mad that he even sued the doctor... i don't know what happened though...

it's very important that people check the records of the doctors as well... even i had the misfortune of dealing with such a doctor, but luckily, things did not take such a bad turn... i could have lost my child due to the stupidness of the doctor... 😡

i really don't like the medical system here in the US... especially with all these private universities opening all over the place... however, at this point, it's better than India...

whenever we have gone to a doctor for a burn, blister or a wound , we have done whatever the doc says - cause we trust them

and today the case is just the opposite

few days back trhere was a discussion abt the same topic and we thought not all are same

but when things happen at sucha large frquency, i suppose in a million there must be ten doctors who really care for a life.

perhaps, aamir should have stated the stats as well... isn't that what the association is accusing him of...?

on one hand, he says these things happen... yes they do (don't see anyone denying that point)... however, portraying a picture that is mostly skewed with a few handful of doctors who really care about their patients is not the correct picture...

yes there are cases like this... but there are many more cases about the good that is associated as well... in India, most of the doctors are required to serve in underserved areas... there are many such examples... just because there are a few rotten eggs, doesn't mean the whole basket is rotten... and your very last comment implies otherwise, which is the same thing that people are complaining that aamir's show implied... which he himself claims is not true...

it's all about how the picture is presented... as i said.. many people have a tendency to go into the negatives only...

my friend's family was given wrong information by the doc n hospital n they were in a hurry to get her operated saying if late it wud be bad for her where the other docs said the operation wud spread the cancer and thats what happened

ithey cant go file a lwsuit. middle class families are not prepared to take the next step
they did sign the consent form but the malpractice happened cause wrong information was passed out

how does anyone prove that!

that happens over here too... so not just in India...

i never claimed that the doctors are perfect, having firsthand experience at the hand of a doctor, who proclaimed that everything was perfectly okay... when it was not and could have resulted in serious consequences if my husband wasn't with me...!

if they can prove that the diagnosis was incorrect, then they can win the case... cases like these happen in the US too all the time... there are doctors who have had their license cancelled because they did not give the correct diagnosis... again, it depends on the cases... so it's not unsuaul...

unfortunately, laws in India are much lax as far as malpractice suits go, which is a shame... they need to change the system and that will take time... things have improved from the times when any vaid hakeem could prescribe any medication but still not to the extent where we have eliminated such cases...

that is so true... i don't know why people always desire an heir...? 😕

it's very unfortunate... it happens in china too waise...

the thinking of the people needs to change... there will always be people who will do anything for a quick few bucks (unfortunate reality of the situation)... illegal drugs are also sold everywhere, despite the awareness it is wrong because there is a demand for it...

the supply will always be there (even if it's lesser in numbers), if the demand is there... that is what needs to change in our society as a whole...
