First of all, did we really expect them to win? these awards are all fixed...they will not waste giving this award to a jodi which isnt on air...but we should not worry about drashti and gurmeet and they getting their due coz honestly speaking they are trendsetters... They excelled as maaneet. Their sizzling chemistry has set the benchmark with regards to any jodi , themselves included. We see so much of maaneet being copied in other shows but no one comes close. Why? because their chemistry came about because they were extremely well matched in all departments-acting, looks, good figures, dancing, what have you. We see so many jodis and shows trying to capture the same romance as shown in GHSP but failing miserably...the best eg being IPK which is so dull and thanda and sub std as compared to GHSP even though the same creative team is at its helm..
But i will like to say both drashti and Gurmeet have gotten their rewards and recognition.
Drashti, in MBEIEJ, has got the kind of opening credits no TV actor has ever seen or received before. Have you ever seen any show open in big bold letters saying "drashti Dhami as Madhubala"? Then there is the publicity. I think by now, everyone in India and anyone outside India who follows hindi TV shows will know who Drashti dhami is. The channel and PH has pulled out all the stops. And she is all over-newspapers, magazines, virtual world etc
Gurmeets new show too is doing well and is amoungst the top 10 shows. Also, he will soon be seen in JDJ5 which will increase his popularity and fan following further. Plus his Punjabi movie is going to come out soon...so yeah, they are doing just fine. As they say, hard work always pays. These 2 are extremely hard working and sincere and thus will always be at the top!! The PH too has moved on to bigger channles and popular shows and is doing fine..So its high time we, the fans should try and move on from our expectations of getting GHSP-2. Maybe, some years later, the same team might come together once more and recreate the magic in another show...look forward to that.
