Mohan's reassertion of his love is appreciable. At least he is clear in his mind as to what he wants. He is also not bogged down by the social profile of Megha. For him, it is his love that matters. Simple, straight and clear thinking ! On the other side, Megha, typically symbolises middle class 18th century , backward looking mindset. We are living in 21st century where widow remarriage is no big deal. This is the era of Live-ins and progressive outlook. There appears to be some contradiction in Megha's personality as it is being portrayed. An educated, working single mother who has the responsibility of raising two kids will take a more practical view in this case. She will definitely try to find companionship if not love around her. If we leave aside physical needs for a moment, even then communication is one of the the basic needs and here, she has no one to communicate with, except that unmarried old lady who doesnt have much exposure of the outside world. So, Megha's is utterly confused. She needs to have a direct one to one talk with Mohan. As of now, she's dismissive of his feelings and she doesnt want to face herself either. She is more concerned about what others would say if she falls in love again. But Life can not be spent on the basis of shallow morality or phony ideals. I hope writer will keep in mind the contemporary outlook of the society.
