Shiva's statement here was made up. In ancient India, Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati all ran along the plains of Aryavarta, and all 3 of them converged at Prayag. In other words, Saraswati was another 'parallel' river that ran, and was nowhere near either Ganga or Yamuna. So Varanasi couldn't have been on the banks of the Saraswati.

I think Saraswati became extinct in Kalyug - I don't think it's an underground river.

I have read, Kashi existed during Daksh's time, Kaalbhairav was in Kashi itself. So Non-existance of Kashi is made up. They have not done proper research, that's why some things sounds unconvincing.
Saraswati river is underground at Rajasthan.

Kashi may have existed in Daksh's time, in which case, it couldn't have been on the banks of any river. Once Ganga came down on earth, she went through Kashi, amongst other places.

Saraswati may have run in Rajasthan, but it didn't flow into the south west like the Indus - it converged w/ Yamuna & Ganga @ Prayag

Regarding Kashi, it probably is a blooper; however maybe they are differentiating between Kashi the place and Kashi the city. Shiva says that this place will become Kashi Nagari (city of Kashi) one day. Perhaps what they are saying is that right now on the show, the place Kashi exists but there is no city there (just wilderness) and one day it will be a revered holy city.

Also, when they showed Brahma's beheading in flashback, it seemed to me that rather than Bhairava it was Shiva himself who did it using his Trishul on this show. So in this version of events, the story of Bhairava wandering the earth because he was guilty of brahma hatya and eventually ending up at Kashi probably didn't happen. That would mean that in this version Kashi may not have existed during Daksha's time. Personally I would go with the my first reasoning (that Kashi the place existed but not the city).

The Sarasvati and Ganga river thing was a bit odd but there are all these beliefs and theories about Sarasvati. That she is now invisible and runs underground, that her course changed in ancient times, etc. It's a whole other can of worms. 😆
