Actress Poorna has been roped in to play the lead in Arulnithi's next. The film, directed by Ganesh Vinayak (who directed
Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal before producer Elred Kumar took over the project), also has Pawan, Dharun Shathriya and Murugadoss in pivotal roles and deals with the life of four friends. The heroine's character is said to be equally important in the film.
Poorna confirms, "I'm glad to be working with Arulnithi in this yet-to-betitled project. I was totally convinced when Ganesh narrated me my character. I've been part of women-centric films in Malayalam and Telugu, and I'm glad I won't have to play a clichd heroine in my Tamil films as well. We will start the shoot from June 15 in Chennai and Madurai."
Meanwhile, Poorna is also very excited that her much-awaited Malayalam film Chattakari, the remake of the old Malayalam film with the same name, is hitting screens next month.
"Actress Lakshmi was so perfect in the film. I hope
I've done justice to
it," she smiles.
