Comedies glore on SAB

SAB, the 'Only Smiles, No Tears' entertainment channel' is back in action with a host of comedies which will keep the viewers glued to their TV sets through the week. The channel has brought in four fresh comedy shows titled - Ji Behenji, Ishq Ki Ghanti, Party and FIR, besides a new season of Yes Boss. The weeklies which go on air from 24 July will help strengthen the 8.30 time slot, from Monday-Friday for the channel.

" SAB has always had a strong share in the comedy space so with the launch of four new humor shows we are making efforts to strengthen our channels' position alongside out viewership in the primetime band," says Business Head, Vikas Bahl.

"We will not have spoofs or slapstick comedies in our shows as they are new-age comedies with a different treatment. The shows will be realistic, substantial and situational," points out Programming Head, Priya Mishra.

FIR, produced by Sanjay and Benaiffer Kohli has starcast of Gopi Bhalla, Kiku Sharda, Garma and Shiv Pandit will have a comic take on cops, crime and romance (to be aired on Thursdays)

Ishq Ki Ghanti, produced by Sri Adhikari Brothers will have Gaurav Gera, Asif Sheikh and Rajesh Balwani and is about the escapades of three romance-

starved men. (Wednesday)

Ji Behenji, produced by Ashwini Dheer has Rajeshwari Badola playing the lead is a story about a funny and fearless 'Behenji' and her trails through the day to day crises of her non-traditional middle class family. (Monday)

Party, produced by Rakhi Tandon has Deepak Raja and Aanchal as the main lead revolves around the life of Raja Hindustani who heads an event team and a socialite. (Friday)

Besides season two of Yes Boss by Sri Adhikari Brothers has the likes of Asif Sheikh, Rakesh Bedi and Kavita Kapoor about office flirtations and the confusion and chaos in the workplace.

Here's hoping with shows launched recently on SAB with much fervor like Twinkle Beauty Parlour and Left Right Left along with the new comic capers are able to enhance the channels TRP ratings.
