Jassi (in Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin) got a makeover, but you haven't. Aren't you eagerly waiting for one?
Yes, Jassi has got a makeover and she is looking pretty too. As far as I am concerned, I'm cool with the Nandu look till the time it is justified. If the story demands me to change my look, I will be fine with that too. Here the producers, the channel and the TRPs are the my maai baap, after all! I would like decent importance given to the makeover, that is if it happens. It should not go unnoticed.
Don't you miss playing a handsome dude on TV?
I don't really miss it, but after playing the nerd for almost two years, I am looking to do something which would be different, Thankfully, I have The Great Indian Comedy Show which helps me not to go insane and get frustrated! In fact, I'm enjoying playing so many characters and doing advertisements as well.
Do you feel by playing Nandu's character for so long you have lost out on young girls going ga ga over you?
Not really. I am the socalled "so cute" thing around if not the "so hot' guy ha ha! I think because of Nandu I get a very warm response from people of all ages and not just young girls.
Ideally, what's the kind of role you'd like to play on TV?
Well, TV is not the only medium for me. I definitely would like go beyond that. But, I'd love to play a negative psycho guy who is bad not because his family was harmed or some sister was raped or any financial fight. He is bad because that's the way he is. I would die to play something like that, a cute-faced monster kind of a role.
You are doing films too...
I am doing a film. I start shooting for it in August. It is a Yashraj banner, Arjun Sablok is the director and it has Tanisha and Uday Chopra in it. It's a Canadabased story.
What's the real Gaurav Gera like?
I'm a fun loving guy. I love to laugh aloud. I love my people — friends, family — and I wish well for all. I love to cook, love to chill out, love to dance. I love my surname. I love life. I hate to be sad. I hate to get up early morning and I hate to shave.
What's on the personal front?
As of now it's only work and pleasure. I work hard and party harder. About the dating scene, there's none. I don't even have the time for it and I'm not interested right now. But if something happens on its own, I will be okay with it.
