I totally agree with you Shreya. She and Nandu both accepted their looks in a humorous way and never wallowed in self pity. This self pity about her looks is uncharacteristic of her, but I do think T & D are highlighting it so that they can set the stage for her makeover. B/c if you think about it, there are many instances in the show where it seemed the makeover was inevitable (the one that stands out most in my mind was when Malika yelled at her at the engagement party). However, during these instances the makeover didn't happen, so now T & D are highlighting her looks and self disgust with them in order to gear us up for it.....or at least I think that 's what they're doing (at least that's the best explanation for it) 😕
