A whistle for a song

Sunayana Suresh

Vinay and Sharmila Mandre's film, Mirattal, saw its audio launch yesterday. A surprise track in the album is called Whistle Podu..., something that works with the entire IPL fever that has swept over the city. The track seems to have been cleverly marketed at a time where Team Chennai has begun to perform very well in the tournament too. In fact, the music label even released this track online in a site to give the fans a feeler. Sharmila used her micro-blogging site to promote this track too by sharing the link with all her followers. The track has some massy lines that go, Chennaikku vandhaan Dhoni, Avan sixer adichale Marinave gali... The R Madhesh-directed flick, which has been in the making for a long time, seems to be finally gearing up for a release. Let's see if this Tamil remake of the Telugu Genelia-starrer Dhee makes an impression.
