What i find missing and i am sure a lot us do is the balance between love and discipline. A child needs both. If you smother it with love all the time, they wont have a room to grow and will be dependent on you for everything. Love surely is needed but when its time to step out, the world out there is not full of love. There is deceit, There is betrayal and there are merciless people waiting for you to become vulnerable. Only love would not equip you todeal with all of this. What you also need is to know and practice being smart and that comes with your own experience. when we talk about experience it may turn out good or bad and you do need to be emotionally strong and independent to weather the bad ones. Funny how too much of love will make you a softie but you also need its backing while you go charging.. what really makes it right is the proportion of love and while it sounds mechanical and almost stupid to try and weigh a parent's love in proportion, it is possible to get away from unnecessary mollycoddling. The softness of love can surely be backed by the hard edged discipline.Discipline does help you with the competitive world outside and by it i dont mean to limit it to following a time table. That is just one form of discipline. The other forms include disciplining your mind as well to think right and do what you truly believe in. You need to exercise control over yourself not to give in to the temptations and easy short cuts. That control comes from the discipline. The intellect and hard work alone does not matter. They both need to be channelized in correct direction. Discipline shows you the correct direction. Without it you are confounded and thats when self doubt creeps in. The confidence falters and doesnt matter how talented you are, you cannot succeed.but then too much of discipline is a burden to carry. It may take fun out of your life and make it look more like a survival than actually a life. Too much of discipline robs the parents off their warmth that a kid so desperately needs. So what we really need is Both in right proportion, in correct balance.Lucky Ansh, Payal and Palak. They have parents where each have their own strong points. Aarti is loving and caring. her love is the kind that shines in her eyes and her touch.Yash is the disciplinarian. His love and care shows in wanting a good future for his kids and he is willing to be stern today so that they can have a better tomorrow. All we need is for them to stop operating individually and combine their efforts as a team. Who all agree? 😊
