Arnav stood at the top of the stairs and began making an important announcement.
"Guys just to let you know Khushi and Annie are coming back..and I want no one to mention anything about Khushi working here before or any other gossip...just make them feel comfortable and mind your own business..anyone breaching my orders will be fired without fail understood?"
Everyone nodded and he went up his stairs, hoping he could make life easier for Khushi. Arnav began pacing his cabin waiting for their arrival.
Khushi walked with Anvesha into Arnav's office. He stood on top holding his breath not really believing that she had returned to the very place where he had thrown her out from. He looked down sensing her pain and her anxiety. He clutched his fists and sighed remembering all the memories associated with this place.
Khushi looked around and sensed a lot of changes in the office. The office seemed more lively and decorated very homely rather than business environment it use to be.
*Hey Devi Maiyaa, where have you bought me back to..I had taken an oath to never return here but because of Maan insistence I had to return. If I told them that Arnav is the man that destroyed my life they would have kicked a fuss...I am grateful to the Khurana's for all they have done for me...especially Maan. I hope Laad Governor stays away from me because every time I see him my old wounds open and sting again...After everything he has done to me why do I feel something for him..an unknown emotion which probably will go with my death...But Khushi you have to remember he is your past...you cannot allow yourself to forget the things he done to you*
"Hi Khushi nice to see you, and you Annie" Aman greeted them nicely. Khushi and Annie were taken to ASR cabin. Khushi climbed the stairs remembering her first day at this office. The same feelings of nervousness started and the thought of facing Arnav again began causing havoc to her senses.
Aman came in and Khushi and Annie followed soon after. Arnav got up to greet them eagerly.
"Hi Annie and...uh Khushi". Annie smiled and Khushi looked away.
"Please sit down..uh Aman get some tea/coffee for the ladies...we will start looking at potential customers". He was trying to sound as normal as possible.
"Bhai I want this boutique to have traditional clothes with a western twist..you know the younger generation would like that.."
Arnav listened and nodded his head. "But Annie you have to see that your clients might not be only young but mature ones too so you should be prepared to cater both".
"Whaddaya think khushi Di?" asked Annie looking at her side.
"Whatever you both think I am fine" she said looking disinterested.
"Di are you okay?" Arnav knew she was feeling strange around him. "I'm fine Annie just don't know what to say". She laughed nervously. Annie had a call from Arjun and she excused herself. Both sat there fidgeting with their hands. Eventually Arnav plucked up the courage to speak.
"uh Khushi I know you're not liking being here but for Annie try making an effort..I assure you I will just be as normal as possible..any problems you may have just let me know..I know I caused you alot of hurt but..".
Khushi stood up all fired up. "WHY ARE YOU BEING NICE TO ME? I DON'T WANT YOU TO BE NICE TO ME? I AM HERE BECAUSE OF MAAN NOT BECAUSE OF YOU OR ANYONE ELSE...AND YOU THINK BY SAYING SORRY YOU CAN MAKE EVERYTHING OKAY? WELL MR ARNAV SINGH RAIZADA YOU CAN'T! I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU UNDERSTOOD?!"
Arnav was taken aback by the sudden outburst. Annie walked in hearing Khushi shouting. She looked at Arnav asking him what happened. Khushi ran off embarrassed with her reaction.
"Annie Khushi ko kya hua?"
"Don't worry bhai..this is normal..ever since she suffers from depression she has these angry outbursts..its her way of coping...anyway I better go after her she will be crying.."
"Annie you stay here look at the plans and I will bring her back".
Arnav knew where she would be. Whenever they had a tiff she use to go there. He walked straight there and saw her covering her face with her hands and sobbing.
"Khushi stop crying please it really tears my heart...I know I have lost the right to touch you but I will do everything in my power to make you happy again...you got such a nice family and a lovely child...you should not punish yourself over me...I am worthless...I didn't deserve your love...just act like I am your boss and your my employee and you will find it easier to cope with staying here for a week".
Khushi put her hands down and looked at the caring face of her past. He looked into her eyes and could see the depth of the pains and sorrows he had inflicted on her. "Now wipe your tears and don't waste them on me hmmm? "
She began wiping her tears and got up with a little smile. Arnav walked her back. She felt like she was already softening in his presence. She only had experience of Arnav's wild passionate side but never his caring side. She felt contradiction of his split personality.
Annie was pleased to see her back. "Haan Geet...Khushi is right here". She handed the phone to Khushi.
"Khushi how it going?"
She glanced at Arnav and then looked away. "Everything is fine why?"
"Nothing Maan was saying to ring you had see how you are".
"Geet seriously I'm fine..I will be back by the time Aryan comes and make sure you give him the vitamin drops".
Arnav pretended shuffling through his file. "Why you looking upset Khushi Di?"
"Nothing why did Maan not ring and told Geet to ring?"
"Oh my God Di..he must be busy...you know bhai!" Annie rolled her eyes and tutted.
"But why does Geet always say things and not him.." she pouted her mouth.
Arnav looked on rather suspicious..and Aman looked at his boss already in the detective zone. Once both the girls left for the day Arnav spoke to Aman.
"Aman I don't know why but something is not right..I can't put my finger on it but what's this Geet doing around them".
Aman scratched his head. "Yeh sir this Geet seems a bit out of the place in the Khurana household..uh I don't know let me think".
He closed and opened his pen thinking. "Do you think..."
Aman cut him off. "I don't know but something is off sir".
"Aman what your going to do is research on this Geet as much as possible and let me know how she fits in this equation...I don't want any girl ruining Khushi's happiness like Sia did to Anjali".
"But sir it takes two to tango..well if Maan is cheating with Geet then he is a culprit too".
"Maybe we are jumping into conclusions but get a detective to keep an eye".
On the way out Annie was asking Khushi why she was upset with Maan. "Di why were you upset with bhai?"
"Annie he is just being childish..he is not talking to me because I am not telling him the name of the person that put me in the state 3 years ago...I just want to put an end to that saga but he keeps dragging it every week". Khushi seemed upset and tearful. Annie put her arm round Khushi.
"Di don't worry I will talk to bhai..I'm sure he will listen to me but you don't worry..he just really cares for you that's all".

Maan visited Arnav the next day to discuss all the arrangements and finance he needed to provide.
"Arnav I can't tell you how grateful I am to you for doing all this for my sister...few weeks ago we didn't even know each other and now your treated like just another family member".
"Its your big heart man..otherwise as you can see I got everything in the world but no one to share it with".
"Don't worry you will get your Khushi soon".
"WHAT?!" Arnav got really agitated.
"Oh sorry mixing hindi with English..I meant khushi as in happiness".
Arnav looked on sadly that the khushi he wanted had become his, so there was no chance of him getting his khushi.
"Anyway Maan you know Geet seems a bubbly character doesn't she?" Arnav on purpose asked him.
"Yeh you got that right...she is right a drama queen..." chuckled Maan. Arnav noticed Maan's face lit up talking of Geet. His mobile started ringing.
"Hi Geet..why whats happened?". Maan looked uncomfortable. He got up and excused himself. He went really far from the hallway so Arnav could not hear the conversation. He suspiciously kept looking at Arnav like he was hiding something.
Arnav clenched his jaw. *Is Maan cheating on Khushi with Geet..I better get to the bottom of this..once I find out you hurt my Khushi you watch Maan Singh Khurana I will destroy you*
Maan came back feeling nervous. "Sorry about that".
"Is all fine? I mean why did Geet ring?" he tried acting cool.
"Oh her? You know women never happy...Khushi was asking her to ring me to see where I am". Maan looked away and ASR fumed at this.
"Maan please tell Annie and Khushi that tomorrow we have to attend a party thrown by their new suppliers..just to get to know each other..and you can come too...it will be fun".
"What time tomorrow?"
"Uh 10pm..can i bring one more person?"
Arnav nodded.

At the party Maan, Geet, Khushi and Annie arrived. All looking amazing in their party attire. Khushi was wearing a sky blue sari with her hair all open. Arnav gaze first transfixed on Khushi. He smiled a little remembering how attractive he always finds her.
Khushi looked angrily away realising his intense gaze on her. She went behind Maan to hide herself from his eyes. Once she was out of the sight Arnav noticed the extra person was Geet. *Maan why am I not surprised..but you don't worry let me get evidence then I will deal with you accordingly*
Maan and Arnav began talking to the people in the party. Suddenly Maan came by and took Arnav to a corner.
"Listen Arnav can you do me a favour...look Khushi seems a bit out of place..can you take her for dance to cheer her up".
"But...she will refuse you know her".
Maan grabbed Arnav and went to Khushi. "Khushi why don't you both have a little dance while we talk to some of the suppliers?"
"But..Maan.." Khushi seemed really flustered.
"I don't want to hear anything Khushi..your listening to me okay?" he said sternly. He gestured for both to go to the dancefloor. Khushi began walking and Arnav looked on sadly that she was feeling uncomfortable due to their past.
"Khushi we have to dance otherwise Maan will suspect..don't worry its only a dance".
The music changed and Arnav put his hand on her waist. Khushi flinched and her heart rate began rising. She began hyperventilating and he noticed.

Arnav pulled her intensely close and Khushi began losing herself once again in the deep caramel eyes. She turned around and he pulled her back. He took her arms and gave her a back hug swaying slowly. She looked back into his eyes with tears.

Arnav lifted her off the ground and looked up at her. She put her hands on his shoulders. Maan looked on feeling really insecure. He could tell something was brewing between Khushi and Arnav.
He put her down and began doing a few dance steps together like a couple.
