Part 6:

And then the call ended.

Adi came out of the room and saw Meera and Geet cleaning the table.

He asked Geet, "Geet at what time is your meeting? "

Geet asked, "It is at 11, but why are you asking bhaiya?"

He replied, "I was thinking of dropping you since you are new here. And don't you dare say that it is not necessary and you will find a way on your own. I usually drop Meera at her boutique and you are no exception. You are my sister and I am not having you travel in bus or taxi or anything like that. You are too special to us."

Geet was silenced by his answer and just nodded with a smile, lost in the memory of the past.

-----------------------------------flashback-----------------------------------------------------

"So you want to say I can't do anything by myself," Geet said angrily looking at Gurmeet.

"But when did I say that Geet?" Gurmeet said exasperated looking at his love.

Geet opened her mouth wide and replied, "Now you are saying I am a liar. Chaddo. I don't even want to speak to you."

And she started walking away from the lake where they usually spend their time together. But Gurmeet couldn't let her go that easily.

"Arre meri soniyo, meri gal to sun," he said reaching her fast and holding her hand from behind.

He came closer to her and looked into her eyes, but before he could say anything, she asked in a low voice, "Can I really not do anything by myself. I just want to go to the village fair nearby with my friends. Do you not trust me?"

Gurmeet cupped her face and said, "Now where did this trust come from? I trust you completely, and I know you can do anything if you put your heart into it."

Geet got confused with his answer and asked, "Then why are you denying?"

He smiled and answered, "Because you are special. You are my life. Now how can just let my life go, all alone. And if something happen to you, then, I don't even want to imagine that. Please let me take you there. I am not denying you to go there, I am just saying let me take you there. Let me take care of my life."

Geet did not hear anything except that he is going to take her. She said, "Sacchi, you will take me there, I am so happy. You know I want to buy the ..." and she just continued with her talks about what she wants to do there, while Gurmeet just listened yo her silently.

She was brough out from her thoughts by the loud ring of her phone. She looked at the number and answered.

"Good Morning Mr. Brown."

"Good Morning Ms. Handa. I hope you have reached Delhi. We have a meeting at 12, and before the we have to discuss something."

"Yes Mr. Brown, I have reached. Don't worry I'll be at the office at 11 and we can proceed."

"Do check your mail. I have sent you some documents and we have to complete the formality of your joining our organization."

"Okay. I will check them. And as for the formalities, they are just on paper, I am already a part of the organization."

"And yes, don't be late. Mr. Khurana does not like to wait."

"Yes Sir, I will be there on time. See you soon."

"See you soon."

And now she knew the time has come. The time for some promises to be fulfilled. The time for some things to start so that it all can end and she can be at peace with him.
