Isha's finally taken the M'wood bait

Her B-Town career didn't do a good take-off. But Isha Sharvani is out on a second innings, going deglam too

Isha Sharvani was a name to reckon, until her B'wood debut — the Vivek Oberoi-starrer Kisna — sank without a trace. But she hung around, albeit in a string of flops, over the years. Things didn't shape up on the love front either, what with her wedding with cricketer Zaheer Khan put on an 'impending' status for long. But danseuse Isha Sharvani is back in filmville again, for a second innings of sorts, with powerful roles in her kitty.
Even as her next, director Bejoy Nambiar's Tamil-Hindi bilingual flick, David, is in its pre-production stage, the actress is gearing up to make a debut in Mollywood in her hitherto unseen deglam avatar. Pramod Payyannur, director of the film adaptation of Vaikom Mohammad Basheer's Balyakalasakhi, tells us, "When we approached her to do the role of Suhra in the film, she was more than impressed — one, to be doing a role that every true-blue Malayali holds close to their hearts; two, to be sharing screen space with Mollywood superstar Mammootty and three, for making a debut in Mollywood."
Although Isha and her mother have been living in Trivandrum for years together, it is only in her second innings that she decided to try her luck in the M'wood. "In fact, the actress was thrilled to get a role that would cast her in a deglamorous avatar. While we met Isha, her mother, Daksha Seth, was also around. Daksha has read Basheer's works and knows about the impact he has on the Malayali psyche; and she was quite happy that Isha will get to play a prominent Basheerian character," Pramod informs.
While things look promising on the work front with interesting offers, Isha's love life seems to be put on hold. The actress, who is romantically linked to Zaheer Khan, is said to be in an on and off relation with him for eight years now. A source informs, "They are still a pair and Isha stays at Zaheer's apartment in Mumbai whenever she is in town. With her career taking a new turn this time round, Isha will hopefully be around for a longer time." Esha will also be seen in the Suriya-starrer, Maatran.
