For actor Unni Mukundan, variety is indeed the spice of life. After playing a Sardar in a recent film, he is getting ready to play a double role — as father and son — in Babu Janardhan's Samuvelinte Makkal. This film is a sequel to Lal Jose's
Achanuragantha Veedu.
In Samuvelinte Makkal, Unni is paired opposite Meera Jasmine. "Meera plays my wife and later, my mother. I am excited about sharing screen space with a spontaneous actor like her," says Unni. Speaking of his roles so far, the young actor says, "I consider myself lucky to have been able to portray a variety of roles so far. Somehow, I was never offered the usual run-of-themill characters." He also believes that this role is bound to take him a notch higher as an actor. "This will definitely be one of the best roles I have portrayed so far. I can see myself growing as an actor," he gushes.
Unni already has an impressive list of films to look forward to. In Njnanasheelan's Ezham Suryan, he plays a young father. Padmakumar's Pathiramanal is yet another movie that he is looking forward to. Interestingly, he plays Jayasurya's son in the revenge story. ammu.zachariah@timesgroup.com
