Hi peeps...here is a weekend post...The Topic...Khushis OTT comedy... Much has been said about how most of the people on IF seem to hate Khushis comedy...I am not so sure if the general public feels the same though...Any time I have talked to my mom and the likes of her about what they like about IPKKND...they tell me ...They love Khushi...Woh kuch bhi kar sakti hei...A little crazy, prank playing, happy go lucky personality is not something that is a weakness it is definitely a plus...
Now...the plot itself which is based on a hate story...or shold I say...a love story but with solid doses of hatred injected in between...probably demands a very sensible, heroine, who feels all wronged and hurt ...I want to see it too...But I have to say...I don't mind comedy injected in between as long as it is done in a way that does not offend me...A very very serious plot is not something that I want to see in a daily soap...
Comedy track has always been a part of IPKKND...it is nothing new...so it should be something that should come as a surprise...Of various ...comic things Khushi has done in the past...I have liked many of them...
Like this one, when she fed all the paper plates to the cow before Payals wedding...
Or this one...when she pulled of the sawmi act ...by covering her head and removing Arnies shoes...
Or in Nainitaal track
Or at New years
Or when she did the Talli acting
or when she hid in Arnies closet
Lets give her a break...and not be up in arms everytime they show her doing comedy...Granted some comedy recently has been in poor taste...but that is not always the case...

Great to hear from you during the weekend. Comedy is not a bad thing . ABSOLUTELY agree.
One of the great characters of Khushi are her antics and she has been at them since Day 1. Be it her putting juice in his shoes, the sholay scene , the Payash track , ones you have mentioned and many more. Even the latest swami piece was done well.
What I find troubling is regression of her character with this senseless comedy. Point in case is the latest hallucination of Arnie wanting to kill her. On Tuesday she had a chat with her mom on how Arnie is the best husband in the world and I must find the reason of this marriage to be woken to a silly notion fed by a program on the TV ???
Even if I try and put sense in the fact that she cannot for her life connect the dots that Shyamu could be the reason and is not aware of the particulars of La & Arnie's breakup, she thinks because of the Kundli dosh he has married her after which he will leave her and marry La... A plausible explaination for a girl who believes in tantr-mantar ..but why the hell would she want to commit suicide herself ? Is killing herself any option for a girl like her. A serious note to thsi track would have really killed her character hence cvs chose it to be comedic . To achieve what ?
A 23 old women ( now that her age has been clarified ) running around screaming khoon and I need to teach Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada a lesson to let me take him for a public bath are just silly when she has a bigger problems in a husband who turns hot & cold, to what will I do after 6 months to what will happen to my family if I commit suicide.
I have no problem with comedy as long as it is situational and not over the top with toing-toing music in the background. I cannot forget episodes as the Khushi Kumaaari Guptaaa or she along with NK convincing Arnie for a desi party to have a jhumka - no thumka...that is what i call comedy.
Very flaky charaterization in the name of Sanka Devi in recent times.

Sush - you are not making it easy, are you? Just when I thought I should stay away...The only thing missing for us suckers is a "Kumbaya moment" ...🤣

I have mostly defended Khushi's crazy antics; even when she was depressed coz the real Khushi was hiding her hurt behind that smile...Her on/off switch is something I can relate to totally...You do not want to dwell on what isn't in your control, you may as well let it go & have some fun...My philosophy too...

I loved some of the stuff she did to irk ASR; she put something in his fuel tank, the jalebi bhai song, "juice hai mami" & then she had the courage to face his wrath & apologize...👏👏👏 Those were great times... I cannot take the screaming or her fake crying...I don't think any girl or boy would look cute doing that after maybe age 5...

There were times when it was measured & in good taste. That seems long ago...But more recently they are overdoing it & adding it as filler just to drag...My favorite scene to date is the resignation scene....If she had resorted to the OTT behavior right after the "farm house" incident and just before the resignation...Would we have enjoyed the resignation scene as much? I can say for myself; I most certainly wouldn't have...The buildup to resignation would have been diluted... That is my peeve with the PH not Khushi...

Most recently; parts of the 100 ways to irk him was good with me but they overdid that too...I liked the room pe kabsa...Her song "aaj mausam hai suhana..." was good the first few times but now I'm irritated...Bathroom fights became repetitious...Is it the lack of ideas that they re-do some of the stuff over & over?

Keep the intensity going when you have to & in between the next track add the comedy...But here a flimsy MU has been dragged for months and now when the revelation is on what do we get instead of intensity, some OTT comedy... At least after she finds out the reason for the hasty marriage, will the strong Khushi show up for the fight of her life?

what do I say? your poitivity is infectious. It's not the comedy itself which is the problem, but the way it has been synchrnised with something as serious as sucide and as poignant as Khushi's one moment of truth and the time she deserved the sympathy of everyone. I am a sucker for Khushi so I can take anything. But I feel cheated as a Khushi fan for robbing her the dignity of a proper truth revelation, intensity and for making her look spineless and unspirited...which Khushi is not.

Heyy!!!

She's a firecracker. If they've maintained Arnav's gold heart towards his family, they've maintained her comedic insticnt. Right from the first episode when she was on her Scooty till Friday's episode, the one thing that has remained constant is her comedic reaction to the simplest things, and that really is remarkable.
And it is realistic, there are some super chill people out there who can fake a smile and whose defense is "laughing it out".

I for one am glad that we have Khushi, Bua and Mamiji, because when things like "bus Chotte, hum ne kehdiya na" come on, we also get a "she didnst tells yous" (I don't know how Uttkarsha says it, but its flawless!!!). So yes, comedy is a huge thumbs up from me. If I wanted hard-core, mind-numbing, irrational lotsa sexual affairs and bitch fight storylines, I'd watch General Hospital daily!

Edited: why why did you put these pics with his hair so nice and sexy lol !!! Ughhh Barun, can you please get a haircut? Pretty Please!!!
Despite that, I can't help the drools, I think I'm gonna need a "Baruns Anonymous" meet soon!!!

I truly love Khushi I really do without her antics this all would be useless n incomplete really but I do think every now and then the essence of Khushi is lost... Then they find it and lose it again 😡

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Khushi's crazyness really Lady Universe except the fact that there is no leash or control over it ...Honestly Khushi kuch bhi kar sakti hai but do we want her to be this crazy extreme being is the question?

I want her to be OTT yet somewhat sophisticated like a Mrs ASR should be I guess...😕

I mean this is a mutual love story no?😃 Or so I am hoping it turns into one day...I think this is the real Khushi thori Chari n Jhalli But very Very caring n just totally lovable Jaise bhi hai if she can deal with her Arnav I don't really care how she is 😆 Bas bring it all back n together n il be in happy land 😊

I don't have a problem with Khushi's comedy at all. In fact some of my favorite Arnav-Khushi scenes are comic ones. Remember the one where she keeps winking at Arnav while trying to make him tell Nani that he was the one who misplaces the tulsi plant so that Lavanya would be off the hook? That was hilarious!! "What nahin... pot... gamla gamla" 😃
Plus, Sanaya with her laughing dancing eyes and her natural penchant for mischief truly does comedy very well.
BUT, what I have had a problem with, is endless mindless comedy which completely sidetracks the seriousness of the situation she is in. We got days and sometimes weeks with absolutely no insight into Khushi's feelings. I'm not talking just about the lack of monologues from Khushi. When an actress in a daily soap is given her script, she understandably doesn't feel the need to look past it. Playing comedy over and over again, Sanaya/Khushi's attitude and body language changes and starts looking very carefree all the time, and we the viewers are left feeling very confused. Something is definitely needed interspersed between the funny scenes -a hurt look, pain in her eyes, something. Anything.

I like the one the best where she dressed up as Maniji, Arine look was priceless when he saw her. He was trying so hard not to laugh.

Hi Sush! Happy saturday...
I love khushi's comedy except for some recent OTT acts. In fact, IPK comedy is really funny. I have recently gone back go studies and stay up till really late to catch up to my studies. I keep the TV on. Point is recently I have seen few other Hindi soaps compared to them IPK comedy is class apart and so us khushi's character. She is fun and different. What has made us impatient is the fact that story is completely stalled. It has not moved at all with respect to the MU. They showed more comedy than the situation could reasonably take. And like you said the show has attracted more brains than it could handle-- that's another reason for the forum dissatisfaction. I tried to make sense.
