IPL fever starts and the channel asks the shows to move the twists to May. I say this on the basis of what I read on IF headlines. All SP shows are going through a twist right now. EHMMBH recently aired the episode for which the promo had been shown pre-IPL. So Cvs decide to spend the 2 months giving the fans what you think they want. Non-stop Barun and Sanaya. Keep the 1% analysts happy with adding pseudo layers. For the rest, use up fan fiction ideas and use them as tracks. For the fan girls, have Barun topless once a week and Gel-less twice a week. For the rest, let's give them a Khushi-on-caffiene...
That is the main problem. the problem is not Khushi's comedy. The problem is that there is too much of it. The Cvs thought that if they have to stay put for 2 months, the only way to keep interest is to have Barun-sanaya on screen most of the time. An excellent idea it would have been too, if they had managed to keep the tone of the characters right. They have failed there. I am a regular viewer who watches the show and takes what is shown at face value. I don't have time to decode or make assumptions on what is shown. So if you show me a Khushi who is fine with having the man she loves starve the whole day and be gleeful about it, I am going to take it for what it is. The trick to a daily show is that viewers need to reminded of the storyline that is being played out constantly. Now, if you give me one miniscule scene, monologue that hints at root cause of the behavior, even that I will take it for what it is. Mostly, it is not about whether what the character is doing is right or wrong, it is about whether it makes sense for that character. And they completely failed at that. We never got Khushi's thought process, we always got an Arnie thought process because at the end of each track, they would bring the ASR mode on. He would get FBs at least. Khushi didn't have anything to back up her behavior. Usually, Khushi's thought process was showed by her conversation with DM. That aspect of her is completely gone now even though she made up with DM during holi.
I don't know much about what it takes to put together a daily soap. I have absolutely no idea what it takes to put even an episode together. I am as far removed from that business as I can be and yet a layman like me was able to figure out that the treatment of the characters has changed after holi. Not just Khushi but all of them. It may be the director , it may be a change in the creative team. The point is that when you have a made a change that is that visible to a viewer, something has gone wrong pretty bad.

Well said Veep...Couldn't agree with you more...Starting Holi ...Khushi stopped making sense...Her glee at the revenge track...made no sense...Her trying to humiliate Arnie...made no sense...Thats not her...
I am not familiar with Indian Telly scene but I am involved in a small way in the art scene...so...I draw on that knowledge a bit...I don't know any of thecreatives...had never heard of them before watching IPKKND...but the contrast in the show losing its grip right about the holi scene was extremely obviou...I also read about LM leaving and put two and two together...GUl's interview did lead me to belive that Khushi is Gul's step (brain) child...It is Arnie she focuses on...Well...she did what she did...but the show rocks only when Khushi rocks along with Arnie...so it is a very simple answer...Lets see if they can fix it...I feel optimistic...I don't know why...
Arnie getting Kidnapped? Hmmm...May be thats why they have been showing how much of a macho superman he is in recent episodes...so that this does not tarnish his image of being recued by a girl...😆😆
-Sari- you rock!!👏👏👏
Vee please ...continue your mantras...1008 ofthem to get LM back..They seem to be working...😃

So this is really happening and not a figment of an over active imagination?!!

So if Khushi will be going to the villain's lair to save her Swamiji I may just get to see the Sholay sequence after all 😆

Seriously though maybe BS not being on the screen for a few days is exactly what I need to wean myself off this😊 clearly poor episodes don't seem to do the trick knowing eye candy will still be there😳

Today was supposed to be my IF- free day and here I am...

Sush- interesting post and I'll come back to post shortly. Got distracted by the kidnapping spoiler 😃

Vee, one more interesting tidbit - In Sanaya's interview last week, someone asked her that they wanted a rain sequence like the parking lot between Arnav and Khushi. Sanaya mentioned it is a good idea and she is going to talk to the producers- only downfall they have to be under water 10-12 hours (which is what I believe happened in the parking lot sequence) and hence they get sick the next day!

Sush as you said only intensity doesnt work for me either..but just too much comedy is also not working for me. Earlier we used to enjoy the comedy which had their attraction and love interlaced which made the track much more enjoyable. Now the comedy is interlaced with hatred which is just not clicking..

And the comedy nowdays is illogical and nonsensical. Also one more factor I feel that we feel irritated is previously when kushi had comedy later the sequences used to lead to some intensity and with each comedy Arnav and kushi's relationship used to see a progress which is missing now. Like in the Nainital track after kushi's OTT act they brought in intensity which turned to love and in fact after that only we had the hospital hug..that comedy helped them to bond and their comfort level increased and kushi sought him in times of distress. Now we are not seeing any progression ..its 2-3 days comedy then suddenly one day intensity which is not making a connect and not letting us enjoy the track overall leading to disappointment. And Arnav's reaction is very mellowed now towards kushi so we see her act more OTT compared to his softened attitude towards her..its not balanced well.

Anyhow the show seems to be changing gears..hoping for the best!

Hey Sush ,
I do like Khushi's OTT comedy but recently I have stopped enjoying it..I had no problems when she played those pranks on Arnie..It was just so Khushi like..The only time when I didnt like her was during that public bathing...But in Friday's episode the CVs made a joke out of serious thing like suicide..And which person in this world reacts like that when he/she is going to die ? I simply couldnt relate to her or understand her..And that BG was annoying for me...Sanaya has good comic timing but even she said that she saw some episodes and Khushi is just so annoying that she is suprised that Arnav didnt kill her by this time 😆..The worst part is that the CVs can never make a balance..And if we all see the trps have always been the lowest when excess mindless comedy track is going on..That means viewers dont enjoy it..And seriously they made fun of the entire truth revelation track :(..Or maybe they are doing this cause we are going to get alot of painful overdramatic episodes in the future..Generally Khushi does rock !! I am looking forward to how she is going to save Arnav when Shyam will kidnap him ..That track can be awesome (if the CVs handle it properly).

You nailed it Veeps! Couldn't agree with you more!

Recently Khushi has been made TOO silly. I don't mind the fact that they had to drag the story for the past 1-2 months as I enjoyed most of the mini tracks, but the lack of attention to Khushi's character has made it almost impossible to RELATE to her at all. She has done OTT comedy before, but somehow I could always relate to it at some level...maybe because it was portrayed differently. If the majority of the audience is female, but they are unable to relate to the female character... then we have a big problem!!

True Zu...Sadly the good news is the TRP is below 3... Even if no one gave any credit to the directors at the SP awards...(LM and NP were not even mentioned and it was all Gul Gul...)...But the recent decline not only in TRPs but also the position on the charts should make them fix things...
The last time they successfully showed intensity was Garima- Khushi scene on Tuesday...THe last time they TRIED to show intensity in Arhi scene is the seethi wala rabaa ve...but poor direction spoiled the intense scene and it did not work...

I think the biggest issue is inconsistency ...the characters are inconsistent everytime the characters get consistent the story goes missing...the story has been lost for a while now...if all this was leading somewhere it would make more sense but it's like being on a boat that clearly is filling with water and drowning and there is no shore in sight...for the last few days there was some sight of land in the distance...then Thursday and Friday happened and while inidividually they were ok episodes they didn't do anything for anyone.

OTT characters r fine too but they need to make sense or something...and if there was light hearted romantic elements to this comedy it would be soo nice but nope it's like crazy extremes...he hates me he wants to kill me...I will kill myself...but I do care for him...I love my family...why will a rationale caring strong willed girl who knows how to win the world on her own terms think of doing this? I give everyone the benefit of doubt with this...it's stressful to write and execute this stuff agreed but lordie don't think ur audience is stupid is all I am saying!

Hopefully drama is back and everything works out for these folks!😃
