Inspired by the trailer of the movie "Ishaqzaade" and the song "Aafaton Ke Parindey". I'm not the only one who is reminded of the raw, passionate ManVeer while thinking about these two things. Actually, my Catty (Arya) is the one who kept resembling these two and the plot kinda started playing in my head. Allah ka naam le kar, I am starting. Let's see how it goes!
The walls were closing in, the night was getting darker. She felt like suffocating. All that running made her limbs scream in pain but she couldn't stop. Breathing heavily, she wiped the sweat off her face and looked around. Any corner, any wall, any safe sanctuary; she desperately needed it. God knew when the ones following her would catch up to her.
When her legs couldn't take it anymore, she stopped for a moment. Taking the support of a wall, she tried to control her breathing. The alley was so quiet, her breathing seemed to be as loud as gunfire.
For a moment, she took the liberty to think that she was safe and that nobody was following her. Looking back, she released a sigh of relief. Smiling above to the heavens, she started walking. There was no way she would find her way back from where she came from so for now, she just decided to walk. Maybe she could find a safe place to spend the night and when the morning would rise, she would call her family who would come pick her up.
With these thoughts in her mind, she did the mistake of being careless. Looking around as if she was at some tourist spot, she tried to conclude just where she was. That was when her world stopped revolving.
"Kahan chali chamiya?"
The sneering voice made her stop. For the first time in her life, she felt goosebumps rise on her skin. She was terrified to turn around. Even without doing it, she knew what awaited her.
Her death.
"Kitna bhagati hai...sach mein. Tujhe sahi mein sab jungli billi kehte hain. Per hum bhi khandani shikaari hain...shikar ko jakar kar hi dum lete hain." His voice, drunk with the taste of victory, seemed to terrify her more.
She felt so helpless with nowhere to turn to, so naked with no weapon to protect her. For once, she was relying on someone's help. For the first time, she silently prayed for the Angel which her mother always said would protect her. Closing her eyes, she prayed to whatever her mother used to pray to. Tears formed in her closed eyes as she awaited her death.
When she opened her eyes, she saw someone walking towards her. In the very dim light of a nearby street lamp, she saw the male figure walk confidently towards her. When he was 8-9 feet away from him, she saw his face and her breathe got stuck in her throat.
What was he doing here?
"Oye! Tu yahan kya kar raha hai? Ye mera shikaar hai!" The man behind her said angrily but the man in front of her didn't take off his gaze from her face. She felt like being caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. Even if she was saved from the one behind her, the one in front of her would never let her see the morning light.
"Suna nahin tune?!" The shout behind her made her flinch and look back. He was pointing his gun towards her. Just then, another sound made her look at the other man. He had also taken out his gun and it was also pointed towards her.
Then, without any warning, shots of the guns shattered the silence of the night. She fell on her knees as red blood spilled on the stony path.
A deafening scream rang in the night before it was all quiet...
