Chapter 10:A Day where Everything Went Wrong

Khushi saw Arnav go to the hill top and sit down silently.

Khushi: deepu is your brother such a workaholic that he is working here as well?

Akash comes in and interrupts them,

Akash: he isn't working Khushi don't worry.

Khushi: then what the hell is he doing up there all alone?

Akash: oh it's more of a habbit of his.

Khushi: why is he soo different? Why can't he just spend some time with all of us rather than all alone up there?

Deepika started to pull khushi's leg,

Deepika: oh looks like someone is noticing a lot of stuff.

Khushi blushed and scowled at Deepika and Payal who had burst out laughing.

Akash(thinking): so bhai was right and so was I.

Akash tried to change the subject,

Akash: don't worry Khushi. He won't be alone for long. See,

Akash said pointing at arjun who had started to walk towards the place where Arnav was sitting.

Khushi looked curiously at Arjun who walked and sat quietly beside Arnav and watch him contently. She was confused. Why would such a small who was so mischievous around others change so drastically near Arnav.

Khushi(thinking): maybe he threatens the poor kid with his raakshas acts. Hey Devi maiyya please look after that innocent kid.

Anyway Khushi distracted herself from Arnav and started talking and playing around with Deepika Payal and Akash.

After sometime all had gotten hungry and Deepika Payal and Akash had decided that it was time for them to eat. Payal and Akash set the mat and stuff while Deepika had made a lame excuse of talking to lavanya to give some alone time to Akash and Payal. There was obviously something in between them which Deepika hadn't failed to notice. But both of them were too shy to talk in front of others right now so it would be better this way.

Khushi on the other hand thought that this was the best chance to see what arnav was doing so intently and why Arjun was so interested in it.

She quietly went to Arnav. Arnav who was engrossed in what he was doing didn't notice Khushi come towards him. She quietly went around him and saw something she would never have expected. Arnav was drawing. It was a sketch. And when she realized what he was sketching she gave a gasp.

It was a sketch of her And Arjun. In the sketch both were smiling widely while Khushi had picked up Arjun and there were hills in the background. This had just happened a few seconds ago. The detail on the sketch was perfect. Noone could actually tell it to be a sketch if they hadn't witnessed him do it.

Her jaw fell open as she realized how talented Arnav was to be able to draw so beautifully.

Arnav had heard a gasp and came to his senses to see Khushi standing behind him admiring his work. Arnav quickly tried closing the paper and put his diary inside his bag but Khushi snatched the paper away to look at it.

Arnav: Khushi, give it back now.

Khushi smiled and said,

Khushi: why? I want to show this to jiji and deepu too.

Arnav: you'll do no such thing. I made it so give it back.

Khushi: but it's a picture of me. I have equal rights on it you know.

Arnav was now getting irritated,

Arnav: Khushi enough with your kiddish attitude. Just give that damn sketch back.

Khushi put out her tongue to Arnav and said,

Khushi: make me, laad governor.

And she ran, ran as fast as her legs could carry towards Deepika and Payal. Whereas all Arnav could do was wait there as he had to take Arjun along with him.

Arjun: she is so much fun na Mamu. Do you like her?

Arnav replied without thinking,

Arnav : oh yeah, she is. I mean no Arjun, I don't like her.

Arjun: ya right. I know my Mamu. He is too good to hate someone.

arnav smiled and picked Arjun up and walked towards the rest.

Khushi had run to Deepika and the rest and showed the sketch to them.

Deepika: oh I didn't know bhai still does this. Oh, this is so damn pretty, and Khushi you look marvelous.

Khushi smiled,

Khushi: but don't talk about something else. This sketch is so beautiful. And there is so much detail and depth to the sketch which almost makes it come to life.

Deepika whispered to Khushi,

Deepika: that means Arnav was looking at you with that intensity.

Khushi blushed realizing what deepu just said and deepika didn't stop there.

Deepika: that means he noticed each and every expression on your face, each and every part of you body.

Khushi turned crimson red as she punched deepika playfully.

Arnav had finally joined the gang. He looked away embarrassed when deepika asked him about the sketch.

His ASR attitude came to his help.

Arnav: I was actually just sketching Arjun. But he asked me to sketch Khushi too.

Khushi's heart felt a stab. But she recovered quickly not to let her emotions show.

Deepika looked stunned. Here she was trying to bridge the gap between the two and all Arnav was doing was making it worse.

Akash looked at his bhai with disapproving eyes.

Arnav ignored akash and tried to change the subject,

Arnav: fine lets all atleast sit down and eat.

Khushi looked away trying hard to control her tears and deepika went to her to talk. Akash came near anrnav to talk to him to calm him down. Just then arnav took his food along with arjun's and left to go near the lake

Khushi followed them quietly without anyone noticing what she was actually doing.

Arjun: I am angry with you Mamu.

Arnav: why champ?

Arjun: I hate it when you lie.

Arnav: sorry champ. But there was a reason to that as well. But you are too young to understand.

Arjun: still. It doesn't give you a reason to lie. Anyway what reason did you have to hide the fact that you were actually drawing her and then you drew me just because I asked you to.

Behind the trees Khushi stopped breathing. It was as though something was stuck in her throat. So she was right about thinking that Arnav had drawn her out of his own free will. Strangely she felt happy at that thought.

She came out of her hiding place to confront Arnav.

Khushi: so why did you lie?

Arnav closed his eyes as he heard her voice.

Arnav(thinking): had she heard everything?

Khushi: and yes I heard everything.

Arnav(thinking): shit.

Khushi: I won't leave you without answering my question arnavji. Turn around and answer my question.

Arnav clenched his fists. His natural look became different as he brought out the ruthless ASR out to tackle her. His voice was cold and face was showing his indifference as he turned around and replied,

Arnav: stop interfering in my life when it doesn't bother you.

Khushi: it does bother me if someone is drawing a sketch of me in it.

Arnav: I just did it because Arjun and you were playing and I felt like drawing because I was bored. If it was someone else in your place I would have drawn them too. Stop giving yourself so much importance Khushi Kumari Gupta.

His voice cut through her like knife on butter. But she still held her ground. She wasn't letting him off the hook that easy.

Khushi: you are lying again. I heard Arjun and you talk. You hadn't intended to draw him initially did you?

Arnav had had enough. He didn't need to give her any explanation. And on top of that this was the perfect opportunity to push her away from him.

He walked towards her taking one step at a time. Anger flaring in his eyes. Khushi walked backward as he walked towards him. She turned to leave but Arnav caught her wrist and pulled her towards him. As she clashed into his chest, she looked into his eyes. She could see a mask there a mask of hatred covering either pain or fear.

Arnav: you have no place in my life. So stop desperately trying to get one. I don't care if you are in my life or not. Mujhe koi faraq nahin padta.

Tears rushed to khushi's eyes as his grip on her tightened.

Arnav: stop throwing yourself at me.

And Arnav released her and pushed her away. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she turned and ran from him.

Arnav so wanted to go after he and take her in his arms and tell her that she did matter to him, that he didn't mean anything that he said, that he had told her the biggest lie in his life. But he stopped himself. It was for the greater good he felt.

Arjun had long run off to call akash as soon as he felt that Arnav was going to have a fight. Akash had come to Arnav now and Arjun was left with Payal and deepika to search for Khushi.

Akash: bhai, why are you doing this.

Arnav: akash please don't talk to me about this.

Akash: why are you running from reality bhai? Just face it. It's not going to harm anybody. Why are you afraid about your nightmares? Just think of that as a bad dream and forget about them. You are hurting both yourself and Khushi in this process. It isn't right.

Arnav: but how can I take things forward with her when her face is the constant reminder of all my visions which I cannot understand.

Akash and Arnav heard shouting in the distance. Both ran towards the noise.

It was deepika and Payal who were screaming. Khushi had apparently tried to walk on an age old bridge above the lake when suddenly the bridge gave way and she fell in the water.

Deepika: bhai HELP HELP. KHUSHI IS DROWNING.

Akash: but I don't know how to swim. Bhai what do we do now?

But akash saw that Arnav was not near him, but was running towards the lake as fast as he could.

Akash: what the hell is Arnav bhai doing.

Deepika: he is trying to save Khushi and he does know swimming.

Akash: I know that, but he has a aqueaphobia(fear of drowining) while swimming. He had developed fear from water long time back.

Deepika: WHAT?

anyway if you want a precap u'll have to work for it this time(caz come on the suspence is huge) so get to page say 80 this time to unlock precap. otherwise i may or may not put it up this time😈
