So yeah an internal monologue would of been brilliant but perhaps tomorrow we'll either see Arnav reconsidering her behaviour or Khushi feeling guilt. Though last Friday's episode was a gem because they utilised the FBs nicely of Arnav remembering Khushi.

The morning scene was depicted nicely and again it was comedy, ASR jumping out of bed and KKG coming across overbearing.. they keep slashing the characters for either comedy or intensity, it's frustrating but maybe the scene redeems itself tomorrow.

yes, the direction hasn't been the same since LM left. Not that LM did not gives us those horror January epis---but he also was into FBs at the right moments,

I dunno trina, I was reading Dood's redux post yesterday and she was interpreting Kushi's supposed 'meaness' in a different light. The CVs are actually trying to show her slowly loosing her earlier character traits and becoming colder and unfeeling (with everything she had to go through you can't really blame her for loosing herself).
The fact that they were talking about raisins yesterday is also a clue to Kushi's shriveled existence. It's like she's being sucked out of her essence (just like a grape is slowly dried up and shriveled into a raisin).
The new kid, her partiality for raisins, her over bearing 'mature' acting and Kushi (with her childlke actions) is all interlinked.
The CVs are trying to symbolise something. Everyone missed this yesterday because we were all cringing at the office scene but that office scene and Kushi's unfeeling behaviour might have been put there for a reason to be used in the future.
if this is what they are trying to show...the slow transformation of Kushi...then it's working pretty well. The Kushi we knew all those months back can hardly be related to the Kushi we see today.

I read that post too. I thought the part about raisins was good---and I hope the CVs meant it.

The problem is the show pendulums between bad production, direction and writing to occasional flashes of brilliance, and this puts the audience in a mindset where symbols might just get lost.

If this is Khushi's transformation---then it hasn't come out as clearly as Arnav's transformation. A few FBs, and a few hints that her behavior is changing should have been given out, in that case.

True! I think Khushi is better giving the silent treatment and caring for Arnav when stuff like this happens! Only then will the story move forward.. Can't wait to see next episode! xx

I'm hoping they don't throw Khushi back into comedy today once again.

Khushi's character has been tweaked conveniently to suit the track at hand. We might see this in the future too. Staying true to the initial characteristic traits is tough for Indian soaps unless it is a signature dialogue or gesture like" hello hi bye bye". The need for twists and turns for the surprise and shock element of a daily running soap will see characters act out of character. There is no respite from it if a daily soap aspires to run for couple of years .

You may have a point there--but if there is enough creativity, this can be portrayed as change or evolution in character, not randomly out of character.

Nice post NS!

However with the way the story has been oscillating from serious to comedic within the span of an episode, I am not sure what they will be showing next!

There's nothing she's done that she needs to "redeem" herself. She plays silly pranks on him trying to get out of a marriage that she was blackmailed into. She also never hurt him intentionally (its his own fault for refusing to eat when she bought lunch for him, how's she supposed to know he didn't take his meds).

Arnav on the other hand has a lot of redeeming to do...blackmailing her into a 6 month marriage, never giving her any reason for doing this, never trusting her, calling her low class and a gold-digger, hurting her physically over and over again without saying sorry...he has a long way to go.

must say I'm Maha upset by Khushis character being butchered . This show used to be classy and genuine and now it's oscillating between melodramatic and comedic. Khushi was such an honest and sincere charcter before and now she has become such a nuisance and she's so annoying. It Is not adorable or endearing as it was before - now its just plain annoying. I mean must have something better to do than shut the water and starve him? I mean making him hurt emotionally would be more realistic because that's where she is hurting. I was a bit embarrassed for Khushi and Feel so bad for sanaya. Writers/CVs - anybody please bring the old Khushi back- cant stand her being like this!

I think you misunderstood me, or did not read my post. I did not mean that Khushi has committed a crime and needs to be redeemed-- I wanted her to not be a joke(r) any more.

She can fight him any which way she wants (be angry, employ strategies etc. ), but that 100 ways to irritate ASR is way juvenile. Especially when you compare that to the real child in the series--Miss B, who acts all grown up.

Get ready for Khushi to go back to her "Swami" mode---looks like Monday will be Sanaya back at comedy. CVs---use comics for comedy, not the female lead. PLEASE.
