Part 19

Maan and Geet reach the college and then go to the concerned office... Maan continues to tell Geet to wait for him but she is adamant to follow him everywhere... It's outside the principal's office that she agrees to wait outside while he goes to talk inside... She sits on the benches outside while Maan goes inside to talk to the principal...

Inside the principal's office Maan tries to convince him about his problems...

Maan: Sir, it was my late father's dream to get into the institute... I have really worked hard to get here but I have certain limitations... I have a family to look after... My grandmom is the only bread earning member of the family right now... She cant afford the fees of the course... I wanted to know if I can be exempted from the fees by any means... As I said I am the only male member of my family I cant even leave them and join the hostel... Sir, I would be extremely thankful to u if u could suggest me a way out...

Principal: Look Maan, we have a very strict schedule over here... We have classes sometimes late night as well... That's y we have made it compulsory for the students to be in the hostel... As far as fee is concerned, it's the decision of the management and I am sorry but there I cannot do anything...

Maan: Sir, atleast for the hostel, I can say I will attend all the classes possible even if late night but then I have to be back home to my family at night... I assure you I won't compromise with my studies... You will never receive any complaints regarding my studies...

Principal: That's okay... U can be exempted from the hostel but I cant do anything regarding the fees... We do have scholarships for meritorious students but its only after one year when we have ur results for the first year... But intial for the first year u have to pay the fees...

Maan: Sir, is there anything which can be done regarding this??? I mean just anything???

Principal: I don't think so I can help u in this any way... Now its upto u to decide... I have a meeting now... I have already helped u to the maximum I can...

Maan: Thanks a lot sir... I am grateful to u...

He leaves the room and finds Geet sitting there waiting for him with hopeful eyes... They have an eyelock and Geet immediately understands that not everything has worked out in their favour... But still she goes to him and asks him what has happened...

Geet: Kya hua Maan??? What did the principal say???

Maan: Tumko mana kiya tha na chalne ke liye... Main aa raha tha na... Couldn't u wait for a minute more??? Chalo lets go to the doctor now... Waise bhi hamesha to tumhari hi chalti hai...

Geet: Haan to chilla kyun rahe ho... Chalte hain na doc ke pass... Pehle ye batao kya kaha principal ne...

Maan: He said its fine if I don't take up the hostel but I have to attend all the classes whatever be the time for the class... Agar aapki investigation ho gayi ho to chale doctor ke pass...

Geet: Awesomeee... That's such a great news... Chalo ab chalte hain...

Geet (to herself): If he has agreed for the hostel, then y is Maan still sad?? I guess there is something else which is worrying him... Ab itna to I know him... I have to find out...

They visit the doctor and the doctor suggests a few days rest to Geet... Maan insists Geet that she rests completely and not irritate him further... She pouts but then agrees to him... They go back home and Maan goes back to the study after settling Geet in the guest room...

In his room,

Maan (to himself a little loud ): I have to see the schedule for the classes and then start working with KC right away... I cant burden Daadi with the fees and all... She has already been working very hard and everything cant be managed by her and Maa... I have to manage it somehow... But how should I manage the first instalment of fees... I think atleast I should ask Daadi if atleast she can manage the first semester fees... Else I have no other choice but to go in for another college... I am sure Dad would understand...

In Daadima's room,

Savitri Devi: Rano, humen samajh mein nahi aa raha hai with the loss the company has suffered recently how will we manage studies of both Maan and Geet... Although I am not completely aware of how much money will it take for Maan's undergraduation but still studying architecture requires a huge amount... Kahan se aayenge itne paise???

Rano: Maa, kya main apne kuch jewellery sale kar doon...??? Usse kuch help hogi kya??? Aakhir Maan mera beta hai... Uske liye itna to kar hi sakte hain...

Savitri Devi: Nahi Rano... Wo sab humko sambhal kar rakhne hain Geet ki shaadi ke liye... Main kuch loan ka intezaam karti hoon... I think I can manage it somehow...

Rano: Dekh lijiye... Ab humen kuch to karna hi padega...

Someone was actually listening to this and decides something which can be a solution to the problems of all... It had to be done for everyone's welfare... Its now time to do something for the family...

Its almost 4:30 am by the clock here... But since I said I would update so here I am updating late night after completing the assignment... I just hope I am able to wake up for the morning class tomorrow...
