Terrorism: Whose resposibility to check?

We have seen enough of blood-shed since ages, now it has taken nasty picture. Killing innocent people in the name of Zehad - shame on you who are doing this and who support it. At this moment we Indians are highly concerned about our own security. We are the peace-loving state, but some envious and zealous people would stop at nothing to disrupt our peace.

Whose responsibility is it to check?

The Government - It always fails inspite of having immense power in it's hands. People have lost trust in them, all they can do some political stunt.

The common Indian people - We are getting used to it, it happens and then dies. In a city like Mumbai it happened in a huge degree to draw attention, and it will remain with us for sometime. What about the small places where people are terrorized everyday and no such accountability of lost lifes. We need to do something about it, fight it. We just can't let this happen day after day.

The people of the same community who say they don't support the terrorists- I am sick of saying this "I have nothing against the whole community". Even they would say that it's just a fistful of people who are actively supporting or promoting terrorism and work as terrorists. They just keep their hands up saying "we have nothing to do it." I agree you have nothing to do with it or you are unware of what's happening in the dark lanes of your community. But my question is, is'nt it your responsibility too? Are'nt you a citizen of this country? You understand your religion and people better than us, is'nt it your duty to make them understand , your obligation to spread peace in this country.

I know this topic would get locked. But I had to say these things, and I won't be sorry for it.

I would hold our Govt and ruling class responsible for it. They are the ones who are responsible for the security of each Indian, and they have utterly failed since they took over from NDA govt. There is no policy to crush terrorism, instead they let POTA lapse, as of now there is no Anti-Terrorism law in our country. I was watching a news discussion on CNN-IBN and was appalled when they showed that not a single person has been convicted for 1993 Mumbai Blasts as of now, many were charge-sheeted, several were acquited. 😡

Present govt's response has been predictble and pathetic, even in today's PM's address to nation, he read out the usual rubbish...bhaichara, mumbai ki spirit, unity..blah-blah.😡 He didn't lay out a single concrete step that his govt plan to implement to crush this menace of terrorism. Tourists are getting killed in J&K daily...no response. 😡 Not even a warning to Pakistan. 😡

I agree with you, the major duty lies with the Govt. Their stagnant policies and lethargic moves have encouraged the terrorists.

America is blessed with one thing( I am no color-racist), it can differentiate the Islamic Asians from the rest and keep a track. Our bad luck is we mostly look same and we have a large no. of Muslim population(3rd largest in the world). Most of the terrorists have been imported from Pakistan or Bangladesh. I can understand that the Pakistanis have a motive, what amazes me that the brain-washed Bangladeshis are also involved. What are they going to gain? This proves this war is not about land(Kashmir) it's about the religion. And only Kashmir will not satisfy them, they would demand more in future.

That's so true👏👏👏..More than a war against india for the acquisition of Kashmir,it has become a war against beliefs of the majority

i have nothing more to say,as I have said everything in the other thread of winnie_pooh...This thread can actually be merged with the other thread ...😃

You know,on one hand we have the fanatical terrrorists, and on the other hand we have a young 12 year old Muslim slum boy supplying free tea for the vicims of the blast

This sounds like saying just because Z is a tamilian,he must understand the Tamil Tigers' motives better than the others ...These fanatic elements are first of all not normal people and thus it wouldnt be possible for normal people of their religion to know them in and out....But yes, even if any one of them have even the slightest inkling of any future peril, they must do the needful pronto

As any Indian would know about what's happening/happened in Sri Lanka, but I guess the Tamilians would be more involved and have more knowledge as it's happening in their region and with their people. They are the ones experiencing more than any other Indian. Even if not they are actively participating but deep-down-under in their minds many of them support the Tamil Tigers. Killing of Rajeev Gandhi was a bad step by the Tigers, and it changed the mind of many Tamilians. And finally, the Tigers had to admit that was a mistake.

Coming back to the topic, no activity can survive without knowing that there are people backing(actively or passively) the efforts. When there is any massacre they would give some formal speech but would hardly anyone or any organization comes forward against such activities. Even if some well educated people of their community would speak the right words, he would become an outcaste and there will be a Zehad against him. There is a saying in Bengali "Peyaz er goda ek jayega te hoye"(mean, onion plants might come up at different places but the root is always common), and that's religion which has sheilded the outer vision and has made the thoughts narrower. Man is combative by nature, the weapon be it religion(applies for the fanatics of all religion). Hardly think in a positive manner for the progress of the country. Always cribing about being minor, being oppressed, being neglected. In this world nobody comes to pull you unless you are ready to get up. One has to make his own way. How did Azim Premji(WIPRO) make it so big for himself in India? How Abdul Kalam became an Indian President? They do their prayers daily also they have earned their respect from all of us by thinking positively for this country's improvement.

Anyway, I suppose if it was really Pakistan no one here has any irrefutable proof. Going on hunches can sometimes work, but doing so may lead to a wrong path.

If India had an Otto Von Bismarck, I'm sure we would have been able to diffuse the Indo-Pakistan Issue a long time back.
