It is one thing to be "mahaan" but another thing to be an "enabler". Archana is an enabler. She uses her so called goodness to enable those who take advantage of her to keep on doing so. I don't know about the Hindu religion but in Christianity, we are told to forgive those who have harmed us as the Lord forgives us for our sins; HOWEVER, we are then warned to stay away from that person in the future. I don't have a problem with her mahanta if she is forgiving those who have harmed her. But she does not learn any lessons for herself as she keeps getting in to the same situations over and over again. God allows bad things to happen to us so that we can come out stronger and smarter. Archu apparently has not learned this. 😕

Savita - Archu on numerous occasions allowed her MIL to abuse Archu both physically and emotionally. If she told her husband the truth, the abuse would have stopped long ago. Instead, Archu feels the need to hide all this from her own husband, the one person you are so connected to that you are supposed to tell him your deepest secrets.

Varsha - Archu enable Varsha to be the wild child she became before her wedding to Satish; not to mention the fiasco with Soham🤢! She fulfilled Varsha's selfish demands as her "sisterly duty". I'm sorry, but as the older sister, she had the responsibility to teach her younger sister how things are done.

Mother - Archu has allowed her own mother to control her life even AFTER getting married. A woman has a higher responsibility to her husband than her own family after being married. I am in no way suggesting ignoring your family/mother and her advice but Archu should have allowed Manav to have some say in her decisions

Sachin - Archu is allowing her adopted son to manipulate her to get his way. Did she once question his motives or reasoning behind his demands? No, instead like Varsha, she is giving in to his demands. Except she is the mother who has a responsibility to her son to ensure he is on the right path.

Manav - Archu allows Manav to verbally abuse her day in and day out while she happily cooks, cleans, and makes his home. Let's say she wants to portray herself as the greedy woman she has been allowed to be painted as. She should be able to speak her mind against him without guilt as this is her "new" image and will only help in enabling Sachin to get what he wants. On the other hand, even if she did not want to portray herself as the greedy woman, she still has the right to speak against a husband and demand that he respect her as a person/wife as long as they are married.

What are your thoughts? Is she justified in her actions? Or is everyone else at fault? 😊

What a refreshingly sane, balanced post at this forum that is riddled with nauseating fanbotism!
There are only two warring groups of manic fans-one that think EVERYTHING is Manav's fault & the other that think Archana is Mother Teresa re-born.There is no rational middle ground allowed HERE! All rationalists have been run off the forum by extremists.I hope you are spared similar cyber bullying! A lot of us left, firmly believing-never argue with an imbecile,s/he will drag you down to his/her level!!

Thank you for an EXCELLENTLY argued post!t Bless you for assessing & dissecting the abominable a story line & correctly identifying the "enablers" (the so called heroic characters)

Not only Archana is an enabler but she is co-dependent.
She and Manav both have this characteristics in common.
As a good human being you can forgive once who harmed or hurt you...One also learns from their mistake.s..But repeating them is mere stupidity.
Archana is not only enabler but nothing abt this character is real..Atleast as a woman I cant relate to her.
TO-TM I agree with most of your post...But the last part..To some extent I do agree...She also has mistreated and abused Manav in many cases previously...Eiher it is her or her family.
Ovarall good post..
Being a married woman with children she yet after 20+ yrs of marriage not learned to be detached from her mother and her phony sanskars..She has still remianed under her mother's shadow or pallu. Married people should have their independent life as their own family unit outside of parents...That goes for both Manav and Archana..
Manav has been insulted and butchered not only by his wife but her family many more times than Archana insulted by Manav..

I agree about 85% with the topic. I agree completely that Archana has enabled her sister Varsha instead of reprimanding her for her deeds. She let Varsha get to Soham and kidnap him, and even yesterday she was justifying Varsha's actions of going on an affair with her boss. She is way too soft on her sister and has always let her have her way. If Varsha ever comes back with Soham, Archana and Sulochana should give Varsha hundreds of thappads. Sulo is so good at slapping Manav, she should give 100 times more slaps to her own daughter Varsha.

I also agree that Archana lets her mother control her life. She acts like a little child all the time, and Sulo always interferes in her daughter's life though she is already in her 50s. Manav has to have some say in Archana's decisions. Sulo has interfered and meddled way too much in Archu's life, she still controls her life today.

The part I don't agree with much is Archu enabling Savita and Manav. Manav has his reasons to be angry at Archana, he has lost his brother, his first son, and Soham due to her and her family. Manav has always told Archana he loves her, and he even booked tickets for Archana so that she could come with him to Canada but Archana was totally uninterested in going to Canada and only cared for being her mother's daughter.

I agree with you mostly on Sachin too. Archana is giving way too much attention to Sachu and she doesn't even care about how Manav is feeling the way she has been treating him lately. Archana should not give in to Sachu's demand but she should always love him as she promised Sharvani she would take good care of him so she should fulfill her duty. Archana should love Sachu but make him understand in a nice way that what he is doing is not right but she is only enabling Sachu and encouraging him.

This comment is attacking members of various fan groups of the forum, regardless of what character they support. There is also name calling of the fans. Though no fans are mentioned directly it is an attack on the members that are part of that fan group. This is a violation of Rule #7. Keep the rules of the forum in mind when posting comments.

Good post. I agree with most of what you have said. Real life characters are never black and white.

There is no explanation as to how can all of Ekta kapoor's character are portrayed as EITHER good or evil. I hate this categorical nature of EK's show characters (well for that matter, most other shows on TV).

This lady Archana and her behavior is beyond my comprehension.

I'm personally supportive of Teju and Ovi. But, Sachu. What do I say about this so-called Canada educated practicing lawyer who is doing nothing but watching cartoons at home, eavesdropping on Manav and archana, planning only parties, or hanging around Arjun's office. On top of that, he expects Manav to marry Shravani.

Oh, please, spare Shravani, Manav, and viewers the torture. Think from your head, Sachin.

Sachin's character has been dumbed down horribly.
