Why is it regrettable that there's no Paki players? No big deal one way or another - as it is, they got to play in the BPL. There are also very few players from England & New Zealand, although this year, there are more from West Indies. Paki players were available in the auction, but no franchise wanted to risk buying them, and then not getting them due to visa obstructions from either government. Reason for the Azhar Mahmood exception is that he now lives in England.

Maybe IPL could take players who can't play for Pakistan, such as Danish Kaneria, or Md Amir.

i. It brings colour to IPL.
ii. It allows Pak cricketers to earn more money. Hence they wont be tempted to involve in corruption.
iii. It reduces the tension between the two countries.
iv. It results in better cricket overall.

😃 Reduces tension? When has cricket reduced tensions between countries? They've been playing all these years, tension reduce Ho Gaya kya? Pakistani cricketer's earning money? Why is that IPL's responsibility? Bring color to IPL? IPL is thriving without unwanted elements... 😃 If Pakistani players are so great then why couldn't they win the world cup? If they are so great then why are they fixing matches and getting sudpended for steroid usage? If they are so great then why doesn't any team willing to go play them in Pakistan? 😃 Judging from the huge success of IPL, most people don't care an iota as to who is missing... 😃 Just calling players the best doesn't make them the best...Results have to be there... 😛 As for Afridi, he should stick to hitting spectators as he clearly can't hit the cricket ball anymore... 😛
